Well, the time has come for me to compose another self-indulgent posts of the many I have posted in the past, but this one is hopefully my last! (Well, at least as an active player.) As of last night, after a deliberation that was long in coming but painfully short when things came to a point, I have retired from active DAoC duty. No longer will the epic-clad ginger-haired gimp of a minstrel called Belomar Fleetfoot roam the frontiers, no longer will the haughty-aired Avalonian called Cerdin Soulfever command his simulacrum (called George!) to launch into the fray.
So, I leave this wonderful game of ours, but I do not leave empty-handed; with me are all the memories of two and a half years of shared dreams with thousands of players all across Europe, players many of which I consider friends, or at least worthy adversaries.
It is possible that I will return to DAoC sometime in the future, but I frankly hope I will not. If I do, you are perfectly entitled to call me a hypocrite and an attention-seeker.
However, rest assured my accounts will never be sold, and so if you do see Cerdin or Belomar in the frontiers, you will know I am back.
Anyway, it is with the fondest memories and the strongest wishes of luck I leave you now--I love you all! (Yes, even Fluid!)
Call me a roleplayer or a lunatic, I care not; I will finish with an excerpt from the Minstrel's Tome, my stab at capturing the World of Excalibur (soon available in hardcover and paperback in a bookstore near you!

/militaryBelomar Fleetfoot said:Crimson snow under a sullen sky,
Valiant heroes striding through the rye.
Riderless horses returning home,
The raven's flight, the bleachened bone.
All made to myth in the minstrel's tome.
