When shall people learn that they always pick up cloak directly they see the encounter is up. That way they prevent any Soj to steal the cloak. Then wait for reset and do encounter.
It takes 10sec for a Soj to cast gateway, during that time you just need to pick up cloak either to do encounter or give cloak to sphinxes to prevent Soj porting it out.

It was stolen before taking it to secure it was done.. i know this shit is common but wtf's up with not giving a shit about others.. and dont even care to finish the encounter.. In my opinion you shouldnt have to make everything secured from selfish idiots, what is wrong with cooperating as a realm? you dont need to have everyone on your friendlist or RVR with them, just show some understanding and teamwork with the people who dont own 1 ani, 1 bb, etc. but still own the same right as everyone else when it comes to try to get stuff..

This kind of crap seems to happen only with the most contested artis (and where shit like this is really possible), ie. GoV and SoM...

On early sunday morning I was in a battlegroup assembling for GoV when members of a certain guild disbanded and went and killed in the day camp... Not that I was in it for the arti, just wanted to help guildies get credit. But they even couldn't be arsed to tell us they've done it, instead sat there for 30min for nothing.

I think the problem is someone went in beforehand, took the long black cloak and left via a certain ML ability. Div came along with a group later and killed the sphinxes and the guy with the cloak from earlier got SoM, or that's been the problem in mid recently anyway.

Technically interfering with the encounter? No

P.S if it was taken in the middle of the encounter, it's bannable

a sojo cant 'steal' the cloak if someone else started it

After one sphinx killed, i came to help him by taking the cloak before any thief, so i did while porting out, when i went back i managed to get myself killed. When i came back to repeat he told me a bard was around, and when i tried to achieve the cloak it wasnt there.. at that stage we had 1 sphinx killed, one engaged and one not engaged.. The Cloak was there when encounter started, and got stolen middle of the encounter.. now this must clearly be interfering?

Sadly enough, it isn't interfering. Attacking sphinxes doesn't start the encounter - taking the cloak does. So porting out the cloak is TECHNICALLY legal and not interfering, even if the sphinxes have already been engaged.

However, if someone is constantly taking the cloak, camping it day and night to "steal" it, you might as well try reporting that person. It could, possibly, be considered as grief play, which is against the CoC.

its happened to me so many times, also had czadi and m8s from random roleplayers nick the loot from braggarts bow (oh they popped up just as we were on the last nodes) and blame our group leader for keeping it, do the same the other day.

the game engine allows it to happen so it will happen!

but to do it to such a fine chap as yourself makes me sad

Now i got told that The encounter got nothing to do with killing anything so i cant report anything either, and it was not me who had the bad luck, the one with the bad luck was the one who spent all his morning hours waiting for it to spawn and trying hard to do it himself cus none of his mates were avaliable, and took the chance of asking a total unknown person (me) to help him even tho the posibilities of me doing a strange LD after getting it was big, and then seeing him getting fucked over by someone who sees his needs bigger than others..

I'm thinking the reason for this arti stealing on Som GoV etc is so ppl sell them via the pc's and sell loot on ebay, I cant believe how much 50plat was sold for, like £150, unreal amount so i guess ppl have there little businesses set up stealing/farming artis to sell for profit. These ppl will have no concience so do not expect it to stop.It sux big time, I will never have enough plat to buy Som/GoV and I cant get hold 1 through camping arti because of Soj's stealing, so i guess its pointless wishing for one

Unfortunately its no longer worth doing SoM because 99% of the time some twat has took the cloak. I have a feeling Mythic will implement a 'fix' at some point in the future. Once they get sick of people complaining about it.

I thought once you START the encounter - that the Cryos have the cloak - and have to be killed in order to GET the cloak.

Imo , if someone else snatched the cloak while u were DOING it ... you never started it in the 1st place .. (
