FAO scouts.. advice required

currently lvl46 with this spec -

25 Stealth
21 Thrust
43 Longbow
42 Sheild


Now the problem i have is that the thrust styles that i can get to above 21 are next to useless for me and raising thrust will lower dmg variation only really. Longbow... seen many differing reports but it seems that the dmg difference between 43 and 48 Lbow is a measly 30-35 so hi bow spec seems a little worthless. I am looking at about 30 - 33 stealth but this will leave me a few points spare (autotrained bow to 40 btw so was 11 in bow @ 40 for free)...


any advice? plzzz

and with autotrained points, you can get 38 slash


So, to me, Highlander looks like to be the best class to make a scout

and after calculating this, I wish I had a scout

Im saracen, with spec:

25thrust
36stealth
46lb
42shield

and i must say i feel quite happy with it.. high longbow is not worthless, since basically all you do as scout is shoot with it, should you find yourself in a melee situation 1v1, if you want to win, you need to slam and shoot him, therefore i think those extra points isnt so bad
i dont think that a highlander scout would do that much better in melee, since he still has studded. would be cool to see one though.
if i ever get higher in rps, i will respec to lower my stealth a bit, since its capped at 50 which i will hit at rr4 now...

and also, those calcs where the highlander have 300dex with buffs.. i remember having 358 at one point

that hardcap youre talking about, i dont get it.

with buffs, i usually end up around 310, and i think my record is 318 dex. Whats that hardcap stuff then?

with my arms i have a hardcap of 323 strength after which higher buffs dont show up in stat window and weaponskill not raise higher then 1655 (yes i am gimped :-/)

Higher then 300 still raises weaponskill a few points

buffed like that i chew shadowblades alive RARRRR

But thrust damage is still based off the average of str and dex, so even if your dex is over 300, that can still be factored into the average if your str is less (I believe).

my specs:
Slash 29 (amy slash)
Longbow 44 (to get bt'd)
Stealth 34 (i think, cant remember )
Shield 42 (slam ofc.)

Gives good enough bow dmg, 50 stealth with items, 9sec stun and best anytime style in the game. Bit gimped with slash and as im a saracen but with buffs its ok, thrust sucks unless ur a infil with 50 in it tbh. With a respec I would lower longbow abit to about 40 and raise stealth a little and maybe slash.

I'd start with a Briton like that, but going for Slash spec, I'd rather have this:
39 Slash
42 Shield
42 Bow (with auto-training)
30 Stealth


You get decent melee damage and Backlash! which every self respecting Slasher uses. Shield and LB as expected, only compromise is on Stealth, which can be at 45 with RR5.

Not much difference between 45 and 50 stealth when someone has See Hidden. Else if the area is clean, the smart scout keeps his distance from the enemy, so the 5 points less in stealth make no difference.
