As far as i can tell at the moment all they can do is make spices and hack (slice) stuff like terminals and coke-cans that have lost the ring-pull

Smugglers get 4 skill trees.
1) hacking ( slicing ) things, locked containers - mission terminals (succesful hack turns a 1500 cred mission into a 2000 cred mission ) - hacking weps ( making them do more dam/quicker shots etc.. - hacking armour.
2) making spices ( drugs which act like short term buffs - best ones give +1000 health and all sorts extra, they make you puke after effects wear off tho )
3) some pistol skillz , things like low blow, dirty shot, feign death
4) underground skillz, things like get faction perks for cheaper. buy faction points for cash, know all languages automatically.
thats bascially there 4 skill trees, the good things about smuggler is you can make a artisan/smuggler or a marksman/smuggler or anything/smuggler really. only a few proffesions cant be combined due to limit of points, bounty hunter and ranger i think are 2 of the 4 proffesions that cant be combined with smuggler

Those are some pretty cool skills m8, im afraid personally they dont seem to me to be something that a smuggler would be reknowned for. The skills really are rogueish, but i just cant get over the fact that you dont actually smuggle anything
