Right, where to start....

Friday, 12.45 AM Hossin

Full squad holding a basement, no vanu around, 2 with DLV on, 1 (me) with audio enhancer on.........nothing is moving.

Suddenly one of our team falls dead, no sound, no bullets fired, no projectiles, just dead killed by Nigma using the basic Vanu rifle (whatever its called).

This is in the middle of 3 other players

Another player dies, one hit, no sound, no bullets seen, killed by Nigma, same weapon (its a rifle, so he cant be an infili).

After a minute of "Wtf?"'s another player drops dead, instant kill, no sound, no bullets, same guy., same weapon.

I would like Nigma (if he reads BW) to explain how?

If he has an explanation or if this is some weird bug that has nothing to do with Nigma, i appologise most profusely for posting this.

Im hoping that this isnt bug abuse or a hack of some kind, but has a simple explanation.

It has, however, been reported.

Just as a little point, I know this is not entirely similar, but Venom got killed in Sanct while he was inside a building the other day because apparently a mosquito clipped him while flying low over the building.

For some reason the client or whatever had interpreted him as being on top of the building, and had thought the mosquito hit him. Even though the mosq pilot never saw him.

It is possible that he saw them elsewhere and shot them elsewhere and there was some kind of mix-up with locations.

Although I don't know Nigma as such, I've seen him around, he's not an infil, he's an engineer. I don't think he posts on here tho, don't know.

Was reported as a bug, and from what you say its more than likely it is a bug.

In accordance with what i said in my initial post i appologise for any aspersions made.

It was a really surreal experience tho

take me, vs a 56k'er on a shitty cinnection

I strafe around the side of an object, fire 10 times, then pull back to cover

the lagfucker still sees me as standing there, he fires at me

I take damage, even tho im behind a wall

The system needs to cater for the person with the lowest ping of the 2 fighting, getting sick of being shot because people play on 56k

LOL that's nothing. When I had my last post-spree time on daoc forums, I had about 180 posts per day up to 1200 posts, then I sort of left the forums for awhile, now I've come back and gotten earther.

So 35/day isn't good for me, I'll have to catch up!

I know what you mean about the lag kills. You can be far behind a wall in cover and still be taking damage from an enemy that you can't see.

It bites, but it's the price we pay for a "stable" playing field.

hehe i am on adsl and still manage to take shots when im already behind the wall code needs sorting badly. no matter how i try to position myself [i was to the side of a basilisk today and got shot by it] i somehow still get shot.. its a curse i tell ya.

Back on topic, yes i reckon it was prob lag ghosts as they also work over quite extreme distances, i was messing with a guy in my squad saying i could see him (i was sniping from the top of a mountain). But he was saying he was in a tower half way across the map, yet i could see him in a base. I said i'd shoot him to prove i could see him, did so and next thing he is actually in a tower and dissapeared from my view.

And no i didnt kill him and he respawned.

Right, well, another update.

This event happened again last night, exactly the same set of events except this time it was in a tower, different player and a different weapon (Basic shotgun this time)

This time, 5 players got mysteriously killed.

Once could be considered a freak occurance, twice indicates a serious bug or bug exploit is being used.

If this happens to anyone else please report the event, not here ofc, but to the devs.

Was it Nigma again or someone else? If it was Nigma again, would certainly look rather suspicious, if it was someone else, might well be a genuine mistake...

Theres allegedly a bug that has to do with being cloaked when getting into MAX armour / Vehicles .... you stay cloaked to some people, some .. not all. <and no i dont mean wraith>
