The loss of Heinze and Gary Neville has destroyed the defence.

Some good points in this article about why Man Yoo are suffering this season: http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,9753,1606172,00.html

However I wish the Villa could "struggle" like Man Yoo! We are so shit this season its untrue. Time for David O'Dreary and Ellis to fuck off already. I actually laughed at the cock-up for City's first goal yesterday - just knew it was going to happen.

Ridgewell and Samuel are abject, no way they are Premiership standard. But the rest of the players are hardly exerting themselves. Barry was just wandering around, not chasing back, not tackling, not competing.

We have no pattern of play and very few attacking moves. No defence and no attack. Abysmal.

Absolute fucking shambles. I feel sorry for the few players who put some effort in.

Keane's idea of a mass clear out in January is starting to look like a good idea.

Have to bump this thread after last nights result. That said I think the English Premier League is in danger of turning into (nearly) as big a joke as the Scottish Premier League. Utterly dominated by the same clubs domestically but they can't cut it with the big boys in Europe.

The quality of the English Premier League is certainly going down, though, if Man Yoo can be so well placed in our league but utter crap in Europe. The weak teams in the League are continually getting weaker. Maybe, if England do their usual and blow up in the World Cup, the post-mortem may lead to changes in the way our domestic leagues are run. They sure need them.

I can see the EPL going exactly the same way as the SPL in all honesty, and I'm thinking the SPL of about 10 years ago when only Rangers were ever going to win it. However your point kinda falls in its arse when you realise Rangers are in the last 16 of the CL this year. Can't cut it with the big boys? Hardly...
