As far as I'm aware his laptop is now up and running again.
I last spoke to him on New Years Eve when he was alive and well.
As for why he's not online I can only speculate
His gf was recently unwell and he's often very busy at work. Either of those could be reason enough not to log on.
The big one though is that he's bitterly upset that his laptop won't effectvely run NF and as RvR is the heart of the game for him maybe he's just having a break.
Apologies to all who have been wondering where I have been recently, since I last logged on to say "Happy New Year" to everyone a coupla weeks ago. And thanks to Nerif for posting on my behalf... ur a good mate, and deserve better than having to post for me, as I should have been more considerate and come here myself first. You are right that I have been extremely frustrated with an inability to RvR on my laptop now, but that isn't the main reason for my disappearance... if it was, I'd have at least posted here to vent my frustrations and say goodbye.
Without boring everyone with all the gory details, it hasn't been the best month so far. Girlfriend has been ill, my situation at work has progressed faster than I expected (such that I probably won't have a job in another 2 months time), mom has had problems which has meant my driving home (a journey of 100 miles plus) every weekend and some week nights as well, and I have been stressing about putting together a proposal for a research project with a deadline this week that is the only glimmer of hope on the horizon that I might not be selling the Big Issue by March! With all of this on my plate, I really haven't been able to justify any time to put aside for DaoC. However, I should have been more considerate and informed everyone sooner about the reasons for my absence - you all deserve at least that much thought (and a lot more besides).
If its any consolation (which I am sure it isn't), it isn't just DaoC that has suffered by my self-imposed isolation. Other than my girlfriend and my mom I haven't been in touch with anyone else I know either - that statement isn't intended as self-pitying, just to reassure everyone that I have not been away because I am tired of DaoC, but rather because I am just tired.
I hope the situation will rectify itself soon. In the meantime, I apologise once again for not letting people know sooner, and fingers crossed that I will be in a mood for playing silly games again sooner rather than later.
