FAO: Hunters and Hand of Loki members.

I have played my Hunter for just 24 levels and I’ve realised what a versatile class it is, but I also realised, it’s nerfed to hell, none the less I will attempt to take him to 50.

After reading the main hunter forums (http://www.critshot.com/) it was clear that Hunters work best when they are with other Hunters and to some degree Shadowblades too. GroundAssist and Assist allows Hunters to target and kill single a character very fast, with or without Bladeturn.

As a pack, hunters would have less issues with enemy assassins and they can do hit and run tactics on small enemy groups. A group of 8 stealthed hunters all with Volley and Longshot would truly be awesome.

Hunters also find it hard to get groups in PvE, (their dungeon fighting skills are somewhat limited) and have a very hard time at the H and Lair. They are possibly the most disliked class in Midgard. Looking at the stats, only the Spiritmaster has less 50's than the hunter (1).

Hand of Loki have created a Shadowblade only guild (though I did see a bonedancer and a hunter have sneaked in ), and I’m curious as to whether this guild is a success. Any comments HoL peeps?

I’ve also noticed that a few people have sent up mini Hunter guilds, Hand Of Skadi and Nightarrow for example.

So now the big question and the point of the post:

Would there be any interest from Midgard Hunters in the creation of a HoL class guild, with the aim to enable faster levelling and more refined (and fun) RvR?

Would HoL consider taking on Hunters too?

Not got much time to respond to this right now except to say that Hand Of Skadi is Hand Of Loki's sister guild.

Hunters were gimped before we got the extra spear damage and insta pet, but now they are a very viable class top lay in RvR. I have a level 50 dwarf hunter and I am very imppressed by the new stuff we have got. As for PvE it is true people look down on us but when a level 48 hunter can take agro from a level 50 troll beserker when just using a spear with relative ease when using the lancer style it must say something to the damage we can achieve in melee. Granted our defensive skills are not very good as our best defense is stealth.

With the recent patch instead of hitting for 140 damage with a spear using whirling spear i now hitting for 250 damage with it vs yellow con infil.

Its a shame realy that we get overlooked in the lair on the lists as our bows with thrust type arrows can realy stack up the damage on them Draks'.


For Volley and long shot if you get these for your hunter then your mad as a hatter. They are useless in RvR, your best choice would be to sync crit shots with your other hunters on spellcasters and healers. One to take down the BT then sync the other 7 hunter on a crit shot on one target.

I would have to say that, yes, Hand Of Loki has so far been a success, especially for a specialist class guild.
On a side note, I've checked and I don't see a BD or Hunter in guild - could have been Loki's Legion you saw.

As I mentioned in a previous follow-up, HoS are a sister guild to Hand Of Loki.

As the GM of the hunter guild also, I have asked some of the midgard hunters before about joining Hand Of Skadi.
Aside from a few nutjobs who would only join if they could be GM, others preffered to stick with their current guilds.
If you wish to use Hand Of Skadi as a basis of starting a proper all-hunter guild then by all means goto handofloki.cjb.net and we will consider applicants for taking over the GM role.

As for Hunters into Loki, last vote sometime ago was a no.
This is a continual consideration though, so at any point this may change.

Well where do I start!

Fisrt of all I will start with the most important point.

Shadow Hunters

Well I joined this guild back in the hay days when I was
a wee nipper (28) (For all you women interested )

One of the original GM's joined Red Guards and still plays today, and the other left the game I believe.
This was at the time of despair for hunters so more and more left leaving me and a few fellow hunters.

I can not see why the guild wouldnt work with the exception for the one fact that most players are not new anymore they are alts.

Most players alts join the same guild as there mains are in, I know this is not 100% the case but it is the general rule of the land.

I think it would be a good idea to try and get interested parties who would like to join HOS to post here.

Why not try an all hunters guild again, I would love to help instigate this but my commitments as GM to two guilds (Purple Warriors and Ravens of Odin 1 person left guild) are too much.

I will help with advice anytime and reccomend xp spots etc etc and also hunt with you tho.

Ok so here goes any1 interested in joining an all hunters guild
named (HOS) Hand of Skadi post here, I dont see the point in creating a new guild just expanding upon the exisiting one.

The quantity of responses thus far has been somewhat disappointing, especially considering the Hunter template post has at the moment 20 replies and Midgard has 574 Hunters, 84 of which are in the 45-50 RvR range.

But the quality has been excellent, Thanks Mungo, Kaod, Dubaxter, Akula (lo matey), and Crasher

Is it true people "generally" roll Hunters because it is one of the few Midgard classes that can actually solo (Skald, Shadowblade being the others.) and for this reason they don't want to group?

I know I would love Corleth to be in a Hunter Guild, though being only 24 I think I'm not "wise" enough to make a good GM!!!

I regularly group with two Hunters in Thidranki who may also consider joining such a guild. (Along with Chancers alt, why not your main?)

Maybe not many Hunters read these forums? Every hunter I see in Excalibur will get a PM form me asking about their views on joining such a guild!

The lack of response is a little disappointing aye.

I will still run the HoS guild as GM or co-GM alongside Hand Of Loki if needs be and it will of course benefit from the SB company.

I also don't know too much about hunters however, only having one at 24, so i'm pretty much in the same boat.

I´d love to join a Hunters only guild. I think that would be real fun. Who needs the other classes anyways
