For those attending this evening, here's a written run-down of what we're going to be doing.
Firstly, there will be NO HEALING other than heal chants. All clerics and friars this evening should be doing nothing but ressing. IF YOU CAST ANY SPELLS ON THE DRAGON OTHER THAN THEURGIST PETS, YOU MUST BE UNDERNEATH THE DRAGON WHEN YOU DO IT. There are two sides to attack the dragon from - the south, and the east. We must split our forces between the two. Regardless of the group you are in...
Clerics and Friars must stay outside the lair unless you HAVE to move in to res. As soon as you've ressed someone, move straight back out. Spread yourselves out a bit as well in case the dragon takes a fancy to the res groups. It is CRITICAL that ressing happens fast and that tanks get into the action quickly again.
Armsmen, Mercenaries, Paladins, Reavers, Minstrels, Infiltrators and Scouts are our tanks this evening, regardless of your specs. Your job is simply to throw yourselves at the dragon over and over, keeping it occupied so that it isn't going for the res groups. When you die, run straight back in, regardless of how much health you have.
Theurgists should stay outside the lair as well, and should use all their mana to cast as many pets as possible. Use air pets or earth pets, as ice won't add to the melee count on the dragon. The reason for this is that the more people we have hitting the dragon, the easier it becomes to hit it. Pets count for just as much as players, so get as many on as you can. Make sure everyone around you is hasted and EB'd at the start of the engagement as well.
Wizards should also stay away from the action. When people are ressed, EB them fast as they're running back into the action. In the same vein...
Sorcerors should not enter the lair. All sorcs please stay with the res groups / buffers and ensure they're potted at all times.
Cabalists and Necromancers should go into the lair INTO MELEE RANGE of the dragon before nuking or meleeing as they see fit.
Additional - Paladins When you get ported, res the dead where you're dropped. Res one or two people, then get back into the fight. All the clerics and friars (should) be tied up ressing at the lair, so it's VITAL that you do this.
I will be speaking to guild representatives and organising a couple of groups to stand at each entrance and cover against the giant adds. When the dragon is down to 10% these groups will likely be very busy.
One final note... DO NOT STICK THE DRAGON UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. The reasons for this are many, but in short you will drag the dragon all over the place, may cause him to twitch and kill everyone behind him, etc. Also for tanks, try and get behind him if you can.
- WF out.
