If a crafter cheats a customer, he won't have many customers after that. Word spreads quickly...

99% stuff is a byproduct of making MPs. Any crafter who had tried an MP order will end up with a bunch of 99% stuff, which is more or less unsellable (market is overflowing).

True on tailored items, Ive yet to see 99%qual chain/plate flooding the market. We'll see what happens in the next few days/weeks ...

As a fellow tailor I must totaly agree with Fangrim on both points. I personaly have never cheated a customer but saying that most of the time I charge a fixed price so there would be no way to cheat anyway.

As for 99% qual stuff, I have way too much spare, actualy managed to fill an alt up and have to start filling another today, I'm sure this will change soon though. when people actualy look more into spell crafting and realise :

1 )how little u actualy gain using MP items compared to the extra price.

2)Mp items will lose durability quicker than epic armour. its not a one off purchase guys your going to want a replacement one day.

3)If you dont plan to overcharge an MP item it can work out cheaper overcharging a 99% and paying for retries. e.g. an MP robe has a spell craft imbue value of 32, to fit 32 imbue points onto a 99% qual robe you would have to overcharge it, the chance to make the item would be 62%. so on average it takes 2 99% robes to achieve the same effect as an MP robe BUT MP robes are on average 8 times more expensive than 99% ones. so you could achieve the same effect using 99% robes at 25% of the price.

It depends on how he got it you know, if it requires to be made, 50 retries is average. Crafters might be lucky and decide to sell it at the cost they got it for. I.e if someone ordered a 99% set and they got a MP on the 2nd try or something. Prices ppl charge isn't necessarily the cost+profit price.

Some parts like gauntlets and boots are the cheapest to make, which also lowers the price on those items specifically if the crafter charges per retry.

Jarahl was selling those at a point when noone would buy them, and certainly not at their "true" value. I expect he decided to try and sell them very cheaply rather than leave them vaulted.

Fangrims prices certainly arent cheap, but hes the one taking the risk on how many retries are required to get the 100% quality. If you think his prices are too high find someone who'll charge you per-retry and take the risk yourself.

There have been some MP studded (and other armor types for that matter) sold at stupidly cheap prices recently(imho), mainly due to the crafters not knowing what a fair price would be. That'll change, either because they learn, or they end up bankrupt.

My prices for MPs are about 15 times production cost, which is the standard rate for the US Servers.

This will ensure me a profit on average, when crafting for MPs. If you want, I will be happy to make a set for you Aussie, for a cost-per-retry basis. The risk is as much yours as it's mine.

Seems to me like you need to bring out your own calculator...

And for your specific pleasure, I can inform you that I have sold cheaper MP's in the past - all of them were by-products of "normal" crafting. But if I'm doing an MP order, I need to cover myself.

If you don't like the price, buy somewhere else.

Studded is what armourcrafters skill up on, therefore masses of the stuff about, not many scouts about, flooded market, studded prices will be low.

edit: this only really applies to the smaller parts (gloves, boots, etc). I don't think many would attempt skilling on vests just to skill.

I shouldn't have re-examined my SC plan. Just realised i can get it exactly how I want it (str con dex qui cha slash stealth inst and all resists except spirit and matter (matter = 22%)) but i'd need an MP hauberk. Gahhh..
This is going to burn a big, big whole in what's left of my wallet.

As I said... If I get an mp by accident, I'll sell it cheaper. But if I get an order for it, price will be 15 x prod. cost. Sometimes it takes 80+ retries for one MP. If that's a hauberk, that will cost me dearly, and I'm not gonna sit for hours crafting AND lose money.

Of course, if I get an MP in the 4th try, I'll not charge full price. But statistically, the 15x cost will ensure me that I will make a profit on average.

And as has been said by others - some ppl will sell their wares for very low prices. So will I, if I happen to make some MPs in few tries. But as a rule my prices stand.

I really can't be bothered what other people charge/are willing to pay. If they don't like my prices, go buy it somewhere else.

Aussie - you try getting a craft to 1100+, and we can talk, ok? You obviously never sat for 5 hours trying to make an MP, seeing your money dwindle faster that you can fathom...

I don't think you have a reason to whine. maybe the 100 new crafters may lower your profit but thats you OWN fault for asking too much.

You aren't being very realistic here Aussie. There's something called to make a good deal and there's this thing about buying at list prices which people do.

You COULD have done it earlier and made deals with skilling crafters instead of bitching about having to buy at regular prices now? Or you can search untill you find someone willing to do it at your prices. Fangrims prices are not unreasonable as an order.

If some people decide to sell some parts cheap because they got them cheap, that shouldn't lower all pricing in the entire realm. An auction is different from an order where the crafter crafts only to get that quality.

You have spent ALOT of time rvr'ing, you have got ALOT of RP's. What's wrong about crafters not spending it on rvr and RP's, but on crafting and get ALOT of cash? It's not like you can share your realmskillpoints, but you expect the crafters to share their(cash) by giving you stuff cheaper than what it costs on an average to make? That's not right.
