Failed to render the file.

This error message, is it terminal for a video file, or is there some way of recovering the video stream, or maybe... I don't know, is there anything I can do with it that doesn't involve deleting the file? :(

Check out any available help... I'm no expert but it might be that you need to install additional 'codecs' on your pc to be able to play it right....


Hot stuff, I take it?

WMP isn't even trying to look for codecs though, it's just throwing it's hands up in the air and begging for mercy. :(

Try DivX, it usually works for me when WMP fails

Well, it's .mpg. I downloaded the KLite codec pack which has a little app called GSpot in it. This is supposed to load a video file and tell you what codecs are needed to run it, but it doesn't work for said file, which leads me to believe that it's definitely fubar. :(
