Failed login

I was at work the other day... attempted to login and failed one time - only problem is if you fail a login you have to wait FIFTEEN minutes before you're allowed to try again! This is hugely over the top.. and longer than the breaks I'm entitled to at work.. can we lower this to 5 minutes to stop inconvenience?

Also, I tried to get my password/login from the page after my login had failed - and the e-mail never arrived! So is this function even working? Days later and still nothing has appeared in my inbox..

As being able to post on FH under anyone else is of upmost importance.

It's probably a standard security feature which Deebs has left switched on. It's to stop people making 'brute force attacks' against your account i.e. trying lots of passwords.

Though 15 minutes is probably a little excessive.

It's obviously a hacker deterrent.

But a 15 minute time limit is also a user deterrent. A seriously lenghty one.

So can we have this changed please? 15 minutes for typing your password wrong only one single time is a joke. Feel free to have 15 minutes on the 3rd failed login, but not the first please.

The answer is:

When I find where it can be set it will be changed down to between 5 and 10 mins until then it is stuck at 15mins.
