Over in Holland atm, staying in Utrecht.
Took a train ride into Amsterdam last night to see the footie (Celtic Vs Bastel) and also to get a change of scenery
Had something to eat at the Koh-I-Noor near Dam Square and watched the game in O'Reilly's pub (Irish Bar)
Before we caught the train back we went "window shopping".
I had heard about it but being an innocent country boy I didnt realise exactly what it was like first hand.
Wandering around the red light district was certainly an eye opener. Small rooms 6" x 8" with the girls standing at the doors waiting for the punters.
Amazingly enough, they didnt look like the "slappers" you would think (compared to the hookers in Glasgow [not that I know ])
There was only 1 "bear" which looked like a hippopotomus in a dress.
On top of all that was all the "theatres" and sex shops.
All in all it was certainly an eye opener - but a little bit "sad" in a way.
Cafe stop on the way to the train - had a nice little piece of "cake"
