Without going into details on how, has anyone seen any one exploiting base caps for unlimited xp?

Obviously no BW player would do something so lame as we're all completely brilliant whatever empire we're playing on but I bet some americans maybe doing it (they evented the word "Lamer"):p

... and maybe the French too. :D

They're going nuts about it on the official forums.

The Outfit that was doing it was on Emerald server (the main people) and they have practically disbanded with a lot of them deleting their own characters.

Couldn't care less really. It's boring enough having to wait around 15 minutes for a hack, imagine doing that all day.

They're obviously trying to apply the standard EQ/DAoC camping for XP style of play. But the only edge it'd give them is implants really. And as soon as they're BR20 and hit the battlefield they're gonna get owned by the first n00b who they run into because he has actually been fighting and getting some practice.

If they wanted to play the game by standing around and not firing a shot then in my opinion they've earned their experience :p Cos I know I'd be bored shitless after doing that for half an hour.

Point was, the exp for resecuring a base was immense, so what they were doing was hack, resecure, hack resecure, switch sides, rinse repeat.

But yes, I'd hate doing that too, wouldn't be the point of the game for me.

I wondered what all the unlimited xp talk was about.

What a bunch of losers, imagine doing that all day!

Their view of it was that they were doing us all a favour by trying to make the devs fix it as they'd been trying all through beta and not succeeding.

And to be fair, most of them have since deleted their characters...

..but still, makes you wonder if they would have done so had there not been quite so much of an outcry.

If you mean they should have simply emailed the devs, yes a lot of people made that point but their reply was that they had tried that repeatedly in beta and the bug had still not been fixed.

Or something.

But hey, whatever they've done, if they've deleted their chars (ie not benefited from it) and the bug is now fixed I don't really have a prob with it. I just think they probably wouldn't have deleted etc if they hadn't been caught. But then, they weren't exactly subtle about it :p
