Tbh the exploit is generally used to catch macro ratters.

I think it's not high on CCP's list of things to do because there's very few people using it and those who are using it, use it to hunt down macroers.

Not that I think they condone it, just that macroers in Eve are doing far more damage to the economy and server infrastructure (through load produced by constant checks to server) than the few people using nolocal are.

I suspect however, that the next macro edition will have a scanner utility which pings scanner every 2 seconds and auto warp's / cloaks if it catches another ship name on scan. Won't save them from recons but it will save them from alot of ship types.

wont save the macroers from anything at all if the ppl hunting them rename their ships to Veldspar

it will because there's a field on the scanner which returns what it scans, asteroid, ship name etc ...

so as long as they get the program to parse the type rather name column it will pick up ships that cannot or don't warp cloaked.
