Exping spots for lowbie!!11

I posted this already in 'newbies' and then realized nobody goes there so thought I'd actually get help here....







K well I just started over in alb, and am now an 11 paladin Unyielding.

But I haaattee Salis plains, and seem to die more from random mobs than I actually kill anything else.

Any other places to exp besides there and mithra at this level?

Im guessinga Sorck!!111 is a Sorcerer. Camp Forest and Avalon Marsh are alternate places to exp other than plains. Bloated spiders may be good for your level (weak vs crush so get a pet that uses crush attacks) these are near Caer Ulfwch (sp?) in Camp forest. Im not to sure what else you could hunt, youll have to explore

Okay I went into camp forest and started walking about looking for the spiders and got killed by a big purple ewul thing.

The fastest way to level from lv11-18 is Salisbury plains. You can do killtasks(alot of running around), and groups are easy to find.

If you're dying alot, you're in a bad group or need to learn how to cross Salisbury Plains whilst avoiding agro.

You can take your time levelling and explore Albion at the same time. For this, head south to Avalon Marsh, or North to Snowdonia Station.

Once you've found the local bindstone, go out, explore, kill

I agree with the killtasks, I used those a lot. Go round all the crier's and do them every level because even though there may be some chasing about involved in them, they reap some good items and xp. (look on warcry as a lot of them are listed and you can see what item you will get)

Avalon marsh is a good place for xp at your level. move on then to cornwall. The bears behind cornwall station are good although boring solo. Mithra too is very good for grouping for xp.

Just my opionion but keep away from Salis Plains unless you have a group who are very strong. I hate Salis cos I died too much there too.

Hm, actually quite like the Plains ... - still find it the best and quickest spots for xping (other then killtasking till 20), especially when checking out the nymph trees ... - aggro mob surely to look out for, but my strategy is not to fight (unless I am grouped) but to sprint off as soon as any unwanted add aggroes. Casters die a lot faster, but even so mostly it works .

Heard that the mobs around Cornwall Station are pretty good too from lvl 14 upwards but not really tried it myself (too happy with Plains ...).

imo- Killtasks are only good till lv10. Unless you have speed, it takes too long to find > kill > and return to the guard.

The way I did killtasks, was to kill a few mobs on my way, get the killtask, kill some more on my way back. There's less 'downtime' between XP.


A good group will always be better then killtasking(so far as levelling is concerned).

At level 11, as a tank, the Tomb of Mithra actually represents the best chance of rapid levelling.

1) Upper levels of mithra won't mean immediate death to you
2) Mobs drop more items that you'll find you can use as opposed to the relatively rare magic drops on the plains.
3) It will keep you going for some time on the lowest level - just avoid the deeper bosses like the plague!
4) it's a dungeon and there is a halfway decent XP bonus for levelling in dungeons.

Also, many others with a 'clue' level there, so you'll find a slightly better quality of group than just hanging out on Salisbury Bridge.

After mithra, you'll want to go looking at grove nymph camps on salisbury plains, then those legionairres by the broken bridge and around level 18 or so, head down to keltoi - excellent dungeon bonuses, some great items.

Kill tasks from WD.
you often get tasks to do green and grey.
you usually get tasks to go just over the hill and kill a bandit/snake/brownie/boar/horse.
every so often, you'll be asked to go to Campacorintin and kill an oak man. Suicide and get a new task. its faster

I posted the reply in newbies, but i'll post here too. Go kill the bloated spiders near keltoi if you can't stand the plains. Or the scrags in avalon marsh (the bogmen are good hunting too) to find the scrags, take the left fork when the road splits after ardribads, then follow until you find a broken tower on your left.

But the best thing to do? go accross the plains with a group, and by the river there are some slavers, xp there for a couple of levels, then behind the slavers is a huge nymph grove (still next to the river) XP there are well. Huzzah!

Grouping in the plains is basically a joke, I've never got good xp there past 10 in a group... killtasking at WD and the tower near camp. forest is pretty fast though, and Avalon Marsh is a great place to go, very under-camped and I personally love the place

at west down in salisbury plains you can get a horse direct to avalon marsh

Camp forest is north of avalon marsh and the further south you go from avalon, tho closer to cornwall you get.

at Caer Ulf in camp forest you can get a horse to cornwall station.

Keltoi (IMO best tomb in albion) is direct SE from Caer Ulf.

Welcome to Albion - land of super aggro mobs.

nymphs is the only real viable xp spot in salisbury, if you ask me. everything else has too many aggro's around them, and is harder to kill.
Nymphs are fairly soft, and with the new 'boost' to them, giving heals, bubble and whatnot, they are actually easier.
They WILL stop in mid battle, and try to heal themselves, and fail misserably since youre hitting them its your first real test for adds too.

broken bridge at the far end of the plains is good xp too, can be done in a group of lvl 15-18's

Centurions, Giants, aged basilsks, giant boars

A well oiled group can pull very fast with little DT.... went from lvl 14 to 19 in about 4 hours

aren't there any good spots in the albion frontiers then, like uppland/crabs in midgard ? huge spawn with neutral mobs who go down easily and never change faction, dont baf either, carrying loads of exp too

If you are feeling adventurous, I killed the ettins in sauvage with my first character to get me up a couple of levels (11-14), but i don't know how easy that would be now with nasty middies around the place. The death stalkers and wolves are also good (14-16) then the trees further into sauvage. After that, go to lyn barfog (18-24, but only as an alternative to Keltoi) and kill cythraul and those puppy things, then the bwglin and fishermen. These are all good spots for bonus xp, as no-one fights there so camping bonus is very healthy.

well I agree forest sauvage is excellent hunting ground but it's far too dodgy with so many middies and hibbies around now.

I'd consider it a far worse hazard for xping than attempting to XP in barrows at level 5
