EXPING Academy (GUILD) for L45-L49's ***PLEASE READ***

Guys, like most people I have leveled to 50 and started alts that are also trying to get to Level 50 too... its always a problem finding EXP groups after about L40 (ala fin's groups and massive waiting lists). Its frustrating and depressing when you spend 2 hours sitting in innis only to get a crap group that dies on glimmers before even getting to the real exp (yuck)

So my thoughts are thus:

Is anyone interested in doing a TEMPORARY /gc quit, joining an "academy" (lets not call it a guild) from say L45 to L49 then rejoining their original guilds once they hit 50?

With enough interest and enough people, the "academy" would mean that there was always someone to group with, and you would get to meet a whole bunch of people from different guilds (for better or worse :)

Thoughts and constructive criticism appreciated!

Just 1 thought:

Current guild GM's and guild mates will need to be understanding...

If a member chooses to join the Academy, then they will need some reasurrance that theyre gonna be let back in the guild once they get to 50. Lets face it, having L50's in your guild is a bonus for everyone in it- and the quicker you can get there the better!

Er Tankster, theres no Academy planned for L50 RVR- I think it would be better to go back to your giuld and support them to be honest?

An interesting idea.
Likely to be the subject of some minor politics,
but a sound idea all the same.

Dont like the idea really :)

the exp bit i really understand .. sure its hard, but why make people leave their guilds for that time ? isnt that the time u want to scream into /gu DING!!!!!!! ;) half ding !!!! ect ?

My late levels i was with people from different guilds and made good friends there :)

OK the reason you would need to leave your current guild would be so all the L45-49's would be in the same chat group. If you can think of another way, please tell me! Maybe we could just use /as to ask for exp groups instead? (hehe joking)

Thal (me old chum!) L40+... well, there is no reason it cant be a L40-49 guild instead of L45-49. But as it stands, I think people are going to be so worried about leaving their current guilds and joining a temporary guild that the idea just aint gonna fly.

Anyone else got another suggestion to easy the leveling from L40 onwards? Please dont tell me "longer fins group lists!" :-P

Sounds like a good idea to me. Fins are a pain in the ass for anyone high enough to do them as there is normally a massive list. There is normally enough people on the list to make 1-5 others full exp groups. So if everyone did join this guild thing it would be much easier to form groups, but the problem would be that people will take for example a hero over a NS, or a mana mage over a void eld etc... would have to be rules and understanding in place for this.

Good idea, could work but personally I wouldnt want to leave my guild for it and I think the same class prejudices would remain.

Imho there is just one problem with xp'ing at 40-50 and that's the fact that not enough people go to innis.
I struggled slowly with innis groups at pookas/black wraiths/banshee till i got to 45, then managed 45-48 by going to fins at 5 a.m while off work with flu. Now at 48, feeling better and back at work, there's absolutely no chance I can get into fins (only play for 2 hours or so, a few times a week), so my options are going to EZ/Siabra City with innis groups, DF (never made or joined a decent group there yet) or a CF group other than main fins (very rare and unlikely).
The best chance of getting from 40-50 for everyone is innis groups going to pooks -- bw's -- banshee -- EZ -- EZ/SC in my opinion, but the problem is that so many people simply sit and wait in vain for a place at fins that no one ever bothers now to make or join innis groups. Incidentally, wtf are so many level 38-45's trying to get in fins groups these days?? Your too low (excluding only bard/druid with right spec) and would do much, much better in innis. And why so many 45-49 dont bother to go to innis for EZ/SC groups?? It just doesnt make sense!!

Why are ppl so eager to ding 50 anyway they have to suffer at fins...? Much more fun to do in Bog of cullen / Siabra City / Epic zone / Darkness falls etc... been in couple of fins groups and it feels like waste... chat is usually a bore since ppl dont know eachother etc.

Exping in variety of places with good mates is so much more fun... id say every1 drag ass to innis and forget those damn fins.

Our /as is used for getting exp groups as well as saying the blindingly obvious 'load of albs at amg'.

Guild members within our alliance are finding exping easier as the alliance grows. Every evening we have at least one ez, or cf group. No one is told off for going:-

/as level 40 voidritch lfg
or
/as need warden 40+ for fins.
or
/as anyone wanna hunt waterbeetles near Ardee
/as anyone know if they baff?

If your guild or alliance cant help you exp to 50, then sure leave em and find one that does. But I dont think an exping academy is of any use. Appart from anything if I was playing my main, or a lower alt I wouldnt know what was going on in the exp academy and vice-versa.

theres enough room in our /as for pve and rvr to live happily side by side with their good friend mr spam :)

lol, at one point yesterday our /as deteriated into a fantasy book review channel. We all agree that the Hobbit is ace, and think it would make a cool film compared to the admittedly awesome lotr ;)

At heart I am serious gamer, and I have to say sometimes I twinge a little when someone asks where the chanter for the lvl 5 quest is on /as ;) But we are playing a game and fun is what it should be, therese no way I would joing /as that takes itself that seriously! Better to cultivate a feeling of friendship and support for all allaince members in whatever they are doing in the DAOC world :)
