Hey folks, check out EXPERT CTF, if you haven't already.. It's a Quake2 mod that's been going strong for years, but, like other q2 mods, the player base is dwindling.. So, if you are looking for some of the fastest, most intense gaming action around, add the following as a master server list in Gamespy and update it and you'll find the currently active Q2 Expert CTF servers out there!

Be sure to bind a key to +hook as there is an offhand grappling hook for getting around speedily.. It's better than the hooks in LMCTF, Lithium, regular ctf, L-Fire, etc... Much easier to move with and makes combat more of a 3-dimensional thing...

You'll notice I have a lot of specialized stuff in there that takes advantage of many of the features of Expert CTF. I like the particles off, you might like them on, there's a toggle for them on the '/' key that you can use in-game. The hook is made out of particles in Expert, so you might want them on at first while you get used to the hook.

Finally, you may be wondering where you can download the mod, well, you don't have to. Just make sure you have downloading of everything turned on and Id's CTF already installed and a couple of models for the hook and such will be downloaded when you connect to any server. Things like maps and skins and such are also server-downloadable. There's no big 20MB dl to go and do, but if you like downloading stuff, check out http://www.plantequake.com/expert and there are a few map paks and other neat things on the files page for both q1 and q2 as well as some old beta stuff from an attempt to port the mod to q3 that sort of died out...
Anyway, we'd love to see some fresh faces playing Expert, so drop on by and spread the word about the mod if you like it, it's got us so addicted that we STILL play Quake2 and thumb our noses at the newer games cuz the sheer speed and action of Expert CTF can't be matched in anything yet to be released.
See for yourself, bring your whole clan! If your clan would be interested in a cross mod scrim, feel free to contact 143 or any of the other clans on the Coliseum ladder (http://www.thecgn.com/) One note, clan [stick] is pretty inactive, but the rest should respond quickly, via ICQ or whatnot let's arrange something!
