EXP loss in RvR? :/

Was recently out in Hadrians watching albs and mids fighting at Beno, when Jager the infil pops up. He starts bashing me, so I bash right back. I get him killed, and at the same time (though a split second later apparently) I die due to his poison... Tis was a ver pleasant duel indeed, but to my surprise, I lost exp from the death. My first thought was that a mob killed me, so checked the logs, but it was Jagers poison...

My second thought was if this might be a bug? That if a 'dead' person kills you, it acts like you were actually killed by a mob? :/
Anyone else experienced this?

Ive had that same prob before with my lvl 35 druid...... I was hunting rats in the gorge when 3 blue con middies decided to gank me. I killed one of the silly fools but the other two killed me so i /released and made my way back to DL when i noticed that it said a grave has been placed where you died or whatever it says. I was positive that no mob killed me so maybe the same thing happened to you as it did to me

You could have been ganked before the xp timer had ended which results in an xp death.

But in Seranu dunno which weapons Jager uses but might be a bug then by Alchemy proc poison or something...

strange if you had more then 50%hp before he started ganking you.

It works like this, if a mob has beaten you down to less than 50% hp and you get killed by whatever before you regen to max again, then you will suffer an exp death.

It was me Seranu... was yesterday after mids attaked Benowyc..

Maybe the circumstances will explain.

I was rez sick from a mid SB that killed me a few mins before..

Suddenly i saw you and you conned blue... so eventhough i had rez sickness i thought i could take you easy... that was a mistake, cos somehow i managed to miss my PA and all went downwards from there on .

On my main weapon i had greater crippling poison to snare target (i always use that if fighting Hunter/Ranger/SB/NS).

On my left hand weapon i had Insidious Lethal Venom, which does about 60-64 damage each tick.

I don't have any procs on my weapons yet.

When you get damage from something that isnt a valid RvR target i think you get xp death... like falldamage. After i died i was no longer a RvR target doing damage to you, but the poison was still on you... so i think the game treated you the same as if you were taking falldamage.

PS: i was frustrated at dying, but hilarious to see us both drop dead at virtually the same moment

Not only did i not give him RP's while i died, but he also suffered xp death...

haha ya tis was a true bummer you didn't 'drop' any rps

Anyways, was a fun fight, and worth those 0.2 bubs to have a short minute of fun I must say =p
