Exp from Keep takes

Sorry for such a n00b question but I was under the impression you got exp from taking the centre keeps in the bgs. I have noticed that I have not recieved any exp from keep takes. What exactly do you have to do to get the exp for taking a keep? I have a pac/mend healer and I am just wondering if I am required to damage the lord or something to get exp.

Also does anybody know how close to ck you have to be to recieve exp? I have been on many keep takes but now I am in Molvik and exp is harder to get the exp would be useful.

With my 44SB:
I ran around on outer wall once midgard took CK in Leirvik ... suddently got 3bubs of xp, didn't do anything.
Another time I got 3 bubs of XP while albion took CK and I was downstairs, inside CK camping for easytargets

just have to be in the ck (you enter xxx castle/faste etc) area to get the xp as far as i know, i logged my armsman on once and magicaly got the xp even tho the keep was taken when i was loading in.
