A-hah! I have acute tonsillitis! I get to sit at home feeling fine and I'm not allowed into work until Friday! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Enjoy your working week, losers! I don't even have to have them out! Just snack on some penicillin now and again.

I've had a legal copy of NWN since friday, plus I was stabbed yesterday so that stops me working

Tho I did lose 200-300 quids worth of stuff, and the use of my left hand for some time

Doctors are very very reluctant to remove tonsils once you reach a certain age (adulthood). A friend of mine that ends up having it 8 or 9 times a year was told by his GP that under no circumstances would he reffer him to a surgeon, due to the severe complications that can arise from a tonsilectomy at adult age.

He was quite annoyed till he did the research online, and discovered that having them removed at adult age can have some horrible and insane side effects. Like losing your sense of taste completely and forever (in something like 18% of cases)

And Summo, tonsils are for lesser mortals. I had mine out when I was five. I was so special, I had to be sedated three times I still have my (rather ironic) certificate of bravery.

Ah yes, I fondly remember my time in hospital some 30 years ago when I had this done to me, the f*cking big needle they stuck in to sedate me still gives me nightmares, nice to see medical technology has moved on
