Think Spudgie and Tubalcain of Axiom Knights had some plans for that, a good while back... dunno if they ever went ahead and did it. Suppose it would be all over this forum then.

I have some projects of movies to make weddings and some ubermobs-killing and i am in the making some RvR movies also :)
only problem is that it either get laggy or it is the same all the time zerg and get zerged die and get rezz :)

The RvR movies i would like to see is DF-RvR and maybe some keepraids

If u don't know it i made the US-Style movie a while back.

Can be found on http://camelot.stratics.com under the camelot movies section "single contributions" (or something)... and if u don't get it to work download DivX 5.02 (know some have had probs with the vid)

End of promoting myself, I do not think i am all that ... :)

For the second questionthis is what i do: Simply record it to VCR first, since most screen captureproggies loose lots of frames and by that get impossible to look at(might as well look at SS's) and then from VCR to HD again in smaller clips through my TV-IN card (special card for looking at TV in your computer) and the cutting and adding of music is done in Adobe Premiere 6 and Ulead media studio... so the making is not so hard the hard part is when u come to finetrimming to get it to fit to the music and such... :D

and i know some use a second comp with TV-In and record directly to that one, the problem i see in this is that it takes huge amounts of HD space...

no use trying another player since all use same codecs anyway...

download divx 5.02 and it should work... it is the same with any DivX movie if u do not have the codec since the sound is not divx but AC3 or Mp3 :)

http://www.divx.com/divx/index.php and download the free one in the middle not the left one since u need the pro version (i think so anyway since i used it :D)

We got a movie of the bonsai brigade on their first outing to middie. Every member was below level 20 and a skald decided to gank all 16 of us when we were off to film the glacier giant. Is funny watching 2 groups of luris trying to kill a norse though.

This is a video that Goldgenie aka tubalcain knocked up in his lunch hour, from footage he already had.

GG makes things for films, tv, computer games, shows, etc for a living. He's a marvel at making in game vids.

Expect more videos from Goldgenie/Axiom productions. Well once GG dumps all that sound from his Mac for the new spyro game ;)

How to make Game Films by Aladora

Being asked to post another How-To for people to reference to. Here we go.

This is but one way to do this, there are others. This was simply what worked for me.

My computer specs are as follows:
1 Ghz
256 Megs of Ram
40 Gigabyte Hard Drive
GeoForce Titanium 500 Graphics Card

I first tried to use the TV-out on my graphics card. This option only allowed me use of the tv screen and not the computer monitor. It was horrible resolution and I was unable to play at all.

I did a little research and found a device called a PC to TV converter. The video card is connected to this device. From the converter, connections are run to your monitor and to your television.

I was now able to play and have a crisp, clean image on the television. It was just a matter of connecting a vcr to record the images displayed on the tv. At this point, you will have several tapes of game footage.

I had to purchase a Video Capture Card. Connecting the VCR to this device allowed playback of the taped scenes on the computer. Possible clips for use were recorded to the computer for later.

I have an educational discount, so I purchased Adobe Premiere. A wonderful program for editing. Using Adobe you place the music, recorded scenes & transitions. A little of a learning curve, but not horribly difficult.

Now a finished movie is in a folder somewhere, it should be quite large. I recommend use of the Windows Media Player codec. To date, it has done the best at shrinking these movies down, while maintaining picture quality and sound.

http://studica.com - A great place to order software for students.

To many PC to TV converters out there. Use a search engine. Make sure it handles resolutions of at least 800x600

Hope this helps.

If your method differs from mine, feel free to share it.

Send questions to aladora@stratics.com if needed. I will try to help in getting you set up to film.
