Seen it. It's quite good fun in a "generic, well budgeted, we don't take ourselves too seriously, horror genre thats merged with sci fi in order to prove its modern and appeal to a wider audience bias" kinda way.

How does it compare to other horror/sci-fi films, say like Event Horizon, or is it more Terminator or Alien ?

I'm afraid Event Horizon, Terminator and Alien are all far too good to be compared...
Think HallRaiser Whatever number it was that was set in space, with a sassy crew of young people wearing futuristic clothes, having sex alot and being really cool talkish. Narly dude, he ripped my arm off.

Aye. Jason X is nothing outstanding.
It's pretty standard for the genre. But if you like that sort of thing then it's very watchable.
The "upgrade" part is pretty cool actually but they don't make use of it enough.
A fairly good effort was made on it though. 7/10.
