Event thingy....

WTF is all this about, logged on and /as was loads of stuff about strangers worms etc. Between DL and n parth i went first and lotsa peeps killed lotsa curms/worms. Then it was a strange "invasion" of spraggon den, with loads of stranger mobs that conned from blue to red for lvl 50.

Wierd none have made a thread about it here yet....well, I'm confused and this all very wierd. Some toughts about it from more peeps would be nice

Got this message in Spraggon:

This was a popup i got while i had entered Spraggon, i have no place to upload it, so i have to write it instead of showing the screenie.

"You feel an anormal heat in this underground tunnels. A smell of soot and gazes mingle with the dull and metallic sound rumbeling in the depths of this..." and something my 1280x could not read completly, i guess dungon.

joined in the fun at dl before a guild group (hearts of fire, ill get this signature buisness sorted one day) ran around KC and tir uphorst looking for more


did anyone else notice the weap drops?

i got a left handed axe dps 7.5 spd 2.4 of those geersha warriors or whatever, says cant be used by your realm when try to equip. noticed a spear, staff and bow drop too but died at the hands of the worms before picking up

in alb pryd today a lvl 16 - 25ish dungeon and the surrounding area's was invaded by a ton of lvl 50 aggro mobs. similar.

sounds like an identical story to what happened in spraggon den, our similar equivilant dungeon

Well the loot from orange conned mobs to a lvl 50 was pure trash tho.. af40 Qual 70%..

Anyway.. It was fun for me without any exp to loose, but I think they should have made it abit easier for the lowlevels to have some fun in sprag aswell.. the curms around KC was alot easier and a lower lvl mob.

Still, too much hacking and little storyline. Difficult to find the source of it all.. We tried talking to most of the NPC's that was logical tho, but no real response

I would say it was a poorly planned event and I surely hope GOA does abit more into the storyline next time... not just kill all u can.

On the alb board I read there was a boss mob worm and gersha which they killed to end the event.

The crap armour salvaged into fine alloy bars, 25s sale price to a merchant.

Uhm i think there was quiet a good story and it was only the beginning so we may get more infos about that soon. There was just too much chaos yesterday and too much rumours where around.

yep, it is our equivelant dungeon (a bit higher though, i was never able to find blue mobs in sprag den at lvl 18) and you know what? tepoks mine (the one this happened to in alb) has EXACTLY the same layout as sprag den, just different mobs and loot, basically mythid decided not to bother making two dungeons there, just replicated one. seems like goa decdided to use both of these since they could plan out one set of things inside the dungeon and use it in two realms

still, although the event didnt seem to have any story, there has recently been a BIG story driven one on alb pryd. anyway, i think the main thing with this event was that it's a change, it's boring seeing all the same stuff even though it was identical 7 months ago, is nice to see the mobs do something other than the usual, swarming sprag den/tepoks mine like that is nice for a change

i'm just waiting until they decide to make some uber bandits that sieze and take control of camelot (bandits are an alb mob btw).

[edit] These mobs were mostly Blue/yellow to me at Lvl 42 and the odd orange. At sprags the sentinals were orange and the guards red.. Fury and overseers were purple.

Lol yeah, was pissin myself laughin watchin the grey/green con mobs swarmin dl after a /rel from emain. Then i noticed some lower people were diein so got out my kick some ass staff and got to work fightin em back to where they were comin from. Course had a bit of help there.
Damn things had the last laugh tho, went ld after the first wave had been beaten all the way back to the river. Got back on, all was clear, no mobs no people. Asked on /gc told they had stopped attackin dl. thought nice, Was just about to walk back when *pop* The second wave pops around me and i get attacked by 50 grey/green con mobs. Was so busy laughin didn't even get my qc away b4 i died. Also forgot to take a screeny, doh.

If this had been THE big GM event, then I would agree with you. But it is not, it's only one GM event in the ongoing campaign that has been unfolding for the past couple of months and is continuing to unfold. The storyline seems to be extremely complicated - and we only have a few pieces of the puzzle so far. Who are the strangers and why do they look like Norsemen. They invaded Hibernia and Albion last night, but not Midgard? They were hanging around our dungeons for weeks and they now control Spraggon Den and Koalinth Caverns. Why, what do they want there? Who are the Geersha? What is this "Dark Powers" faction? How is this all related to the warnings of Velfaur the Astrologer and the strange, still unexplained messages of Rysa and the other ghostly apparitions all over the realms?

There's plenty of storyline there, I think.

Followed the worm/warrior swarm back to Koalinth Caverns. KC had bugged chat windows and no sound, making it impossible to find out what was going on there with the merchants spawn and all. So went out again, and noticed the swarm was coming towards KC from the Cliffs of Moher beach, far NE side. Once there, I got snared to death by 200+ geersha warriors. The hibs there couldn't hold them. I logged off shortly after that coz it was getting too late, but it looked as though they were coming from the water.

Asmodan seemed to know a lot about the past events btw, posting everything he could come up with on /as. He remembered one of the first strangers ever encountered was followed all the way back to Cliffs of Moher beach...

Figures that an invasion army has to come from somewhere, so a beach landing wouldn't be so odd ( ;

I think the event in Spraggon Den may not have been related to the invasion geersha warriors / wryghugherguiehwhatever worms though. Several people tried talking to the slaves, but they didn't respond. We killed a Slave Master (purple con to lvl 50) several times, but that didn't seem to result in much, although an NPC called Nevraag spammed a few messages after his death about his wrath and returning etc. Dunno if anyone has tried charming a slave. Killing slaves nor overseers/bloodies/furies/guards/sentinels/slave masters seemed to result in gain or loss of faction standing with any of them.

CM was simply impossible to hold since the guards/fury called for help and the spawn was nearly insta


i checked myself:

Sile in Connla, King in TNN, Druid Prince in TNN, Cathbad in Howth, Lord Proi... in Howth - nobody responded to normal dialog or keywords like stranger, silver or invasion.

Albs killed a "boss" mob in the pit of their "spragg den". We got similar msgs but (somethign with heat and rumbles down in the deep) got no mob like albs ...

Each purp mob in spraggon den said a sentence the moment it was killed, but not really good leads or info about the event.

there was one named slave (ecslave or something near S pit) but it was killed by the hib zerg (can't blame anyone since it was so crowded and the massive spawn was ridicolous).

Oh and last but not least, sorry for spamming /as yesterday as the event started

KC aint invaded, there are just a bunch of merchants inside.
Merchants at Tir Urphost are gone though

The merchants inside Koalinth are the merchants from Tir Uphost; they are either hiding in the dungeon or being held prisoner there.

Last night when we were there there were still enemy guards spawning near the entrance, inside.

By the way, has anyone tried buying a ticket from the stable master now cowering inside Koalinth and then dropping it on him?

The named slave repopped a bit later, and i managed to get to him and click on him, he said to me "For we are distant cousins, leave here now before they enslave you all" (or round about those words). Not exactly many clues in that sentence

So the merchants in KC act as if nothing has changed. No "help, we have been driven out of Uphorst by nasty creatures!" or "we are prisoners here, save us!". Just the usual "would you like to buy a sword/shield etc?" or in the case of that little guy: "Help! Grey man is after me!". Well mate, maybe I've completely misread the situation but I'd have thought Grey Man would be the least of your concerns at the moment.

Some great atmospheric scene-setting there.
