So started playing eve again, forgotten how deep a game it is

Im sat on a training course in reading and thought I'd get a few questions aanswered.

I've got about 5 million in cash and about 7 ships now, main 2 Im currently using are a magnate with a couple of expanded cargo holds that I use for
Mining, and an omen that does all my pew-pew work

Training - is it best to train up the skills to get the certificates for the path you wish to follow or just get skills you think you will need ( if that makes any sense)

Items - how do you manage all your loot. Already I've got little piles of loot dotted about. Is it worth moving it all to one place, or maintaining a stockpile in eAch system.

Corps - whens the best time to join a Corp, and how do I know I'm not joining the eve equivalent of the Tamil tigers and wills end up getting my ass kicked everytime I leave dock.

Think that's it for now, will probably add a couple more questions later

Eve is the only true sandbox MMORPG around and therefore, there is no right and wrong answer to your questions. My personal take on your questions are...

Training - Work out what ship (s) you want to fly and plan your queue as needed. If you want to fly missions to make your isk the correct ship progression is frigate - Cruiser - Battlecruiser - Battleship. I take it you are Amarr? Im sorry, I dont know what ships are best for PvE as I use gallente and Caldari for PvE. Also aim for T2 fittings. Once you have a battleship with T2 fittings (or named T1 fittings) that can easily do level 4 combat missions, you then have your staple income and then you can think about what you want to do next.

Items - Personal choice, myself, before I moved to null sec, I only operated from one system and hence, only built a stockpile in one system. if you have it scattered all over a number of systems it can be a pain trying to sell it.

Corps - Entirely upto you. Again, there is no right and wrong answer. You need to decide what kind of corp you want to join. Work out what you want to do in EVE first and there will be hundreds of different corps that will suit your needs.

From memory I'd pretty much agree with Marc.

As a side note I remember it was better to train the skills that aided the ship you wanted to be in first (so not cruiser/battlecruiser first) as this meant that when you got in your shiny new pwn mobile it didn't go pop. Train the fitting skills first and use them on your current ship to make it pwn better and then when you train the ship skills and make the step up in class you wont be disappointed.

It's been like forever since I played but that rule probably still holds true (along with don't fly what you can't afford to lose).

Dont bother training mining! Avoid industry all round to begin with tbh.

The usual path of progression shipwise is frigate-cruiser-battlecruiser-battleship but you may want to train for a particular Tech 2 ship you fancy.

If you run missions dont do the ones where you fight one of the other player races ships - it will slowly ruin your faction with them until eventually they will attack you in their space - it can be fixed but will take ages...

Exploration in hi sec can be fun and good training - scanning is more skill than character skill beyond the basics.

Try everything :)

Best thing to do is join an industrial corp and aim for a battlecruiser for pve and a t2 frigate of choice for pvp. train electronics/engineering 5 asap and weapon upgrades 4 hull upgrades 4 mechanics 4 etc

If you have any questions ingame pm me on Roleplay or Delta Summers if i dont reply as that means im making money in highsec or trying :p

The guys here have good points, but one tip for you is don't train fucking mining.

If you want to mine, make ISK through pvp/pve and buy a scrub mining alt
