EVE or PS for HPB

I was really excited about both of them (planetside and EVE) and since i dont have the time or money to invest in both i have to choose one or the other.

On paper i would probably go for PS because it suits my jump in and play when i want attitude, but i also think i would become engrossed enough in EVE (because of all the detail etc) to become an addict (but not a life waster).

The thing is i am on 64k ISDN. As i see it this would almost eliminate me from front line action in both games, although since EVE fighting isn't so much twitch i might get away with it. It just seems that EVE has more non fighting things to do than PS.

What can you do in PS other than fight which is enjoyable, and better still can i fight with an ISDN connection (i expect not because i ping 100ms in most non-MMOG so it would probably increase 5 fold at least)

Are there any other ISDN/56kModem users planning on trying either of these games (or indeed are there any on these forums)

*btw i live in a village of bout 900 peeps so the chances of me being BB enabled in the next year or 2 are zero

Custy, I dont know about EVE but in PS you can earn BEP's as part of a squad - and squad's need pilot's, engineers, medics, that kind of thing.

Combat engineers can deploy turrets - no need to worry about ping there. You can also do energy runs to bases which rakes in BEPs (involves drivin a vehicle). You could also try a bit of hacking - you'll be in a squad anyway so let them cover you.

Im not gunna move just cuz of BB, its a nice place, not that far (8miles) from stratford on avon so its not bad for going out. Stratford was in FHM coupla months ago and had a going out guide in it, scored very well.

The local pub is a shithole.

Lester i dont do much gaming these days anyway (probs about 15-20 hours in the last year!! whereas i used to do about 2-4 hours a day) I just feel like buying a game since i am planing on a hardware upgrade in the next few weeks anyway.
