European DAOC server decline - too many assholes ?

Basically people are leaving the European DAOC servers en masse. The population is in massive decline, and everyone's moaning that RVR is shite.

Everyone's asking why. I'm not sure - but I think I may have worked it.

Have you read what some of these people post ? So many assholes. Thank God they don't come to the Off-Topic section. They're killing the population themselves. Idiots ! Ppl are getting fed up playing with these jerks ruining the game for everyone else. Maybe.

Can we have an Asshole Server where these people can play and flame each other insessantly. And then a normal server for players with a mental age greater than 3 where ppl can play and have fun and a laugh like the old days ?

DAOC, like 99% of all online games, has been saturated by the "Win at all cost" mentality. In the vast majority of cases, the people who suffer from this condition ruin the game for everyone else who play the game for fun.

To harken back to the old days, I remember when leveling groups were plentiful, when everyone was in drop armour and RvR was fun. No one had perfected the arts of strafing, lag-casting and the various other "features" in the game just now which ruin the fun of the non-l33t player (or those like myself who were bad at the game in the first place )

Games like DAOC will always attract those who believe that being l33t in a computer game is a life-time achievement, and who dont care who they step on to get there. And just so it doesnt seem I'm picking on DAOC, I play BF2 a lot and the same thing goes on that as well. People are happy to be asses if it means they get a few more points and a gold star.

Yer, it's true that a lot of people are acting like jerks but there's something else aswell. You see, I'm follower of the "everyone plays his style" opinion, but my own style is some nice 8man or solo combat. I never really liked zergs cause of various reasons. In the old days my comp was too crap to support it (hehe =) ) and now I just find it boring cause it's so much about casters vs. casters.

So here's the dilemma. There are already not many enemy fg's out, so strip away the assholes and you got near to zero action going :/ I'd love it if all nice 8v8 people came back to play again and just use Agramon. I know a lot of zerg people say they respect Agramon as fg zone cause it's not so interesting for them anyways.

I think the game would be lots more fun then and with so much less aggressions. I mean there are really good AND nice players, but lots quit the game I so wish the asses would go away, the nice people come back and give lots of cool fg fights.

Personally I think old ToA brought out the bad things in people, all the greed and a lot of people left due to this and now they just don't want to come back. Greed is one of the worst things, it can really kill a game. There's nothing wrong with the fact that if you want to be good you have to spend some time with your toon, but if you need 2fg to kill a mob and everybody wants one single item that just dropped, there will be lots of hatred, especially if the repop timer is a few hours.

In RvR it's the soloers yelling "don't add you noobs", the fg'ers calling others "useless zerglings", the zerg people calling others "leet pricks" and so on, even if all this is not true. There are nice people but also idiots in every group and this makes the game not so enjoyable sometimes....and what are we posters? Carebears ofc

Dream server would be with much more population, all drops are "one time drops" (item drops first time you kill the mob and goes right to the inv. of everybody) and can be repaired like arties (so never any loss). Everybody who wants to zerg can do so, all fg's go Agramon and make a BG for soloers =)) .....and then I woke up

Oh well, I think it's the fate of the world that you have to cope with asses from time to time :/
