How silly of game companies to always wait so long. By this time anyone who wanted to play the game ordered it from the States already. And so the myth that Europe isn't a great market perpetuates...

If you don't have a credit card, tough luck in Europe too.

I can't really say that I'm playing on US times at all, even if I'm using the US client?

But yes, a lot more will get it when you don't need to lie about where you live etc.

I'd love to play on a mostly euro server with mostly euro people........ can't stand most of the American kiddies.... and the Japanese have some serious attitude problems. Time zone difference isn't a big problem for me, makes farming and stuff easier...

Its gonna be just another gateway to the existing network tho, so we'll join the americans and japanese once again :)

aye euro runs on the big servers same as everyone

thats why i couldnt figure out when i started beta testing why there was so many high rank peeps

IMO letting eu peeps into a kinda world server were peeps been fighting, leveleing etc way way way before them just leads to more frustration

It shouldn't matter much, us who imported from the US still got stuck on the same servers that the JP had been playing on for a year and we did fine.

Not quite so, a large amount of the EU players are now 65+ and we did fine.

Least we got a nice head start. :p

I got the import when it came out in the US, but got frustrated with having to wait 'x' hours for a group only to see it disolve in 30 mins. I found the time zone thing...awkward to say the least. US 5-9 hours behind, JP 8 hours in front, but I could have got over that I guess :p

I spent much of my last month on my rdm fishing and skilling up my weaving...

That said however I am quite looking forward to starting all over again with the EU release. Same server, prolly even same class. At least to start with. I know what things to craft to increase faster, how the days influence which skills I should be doing etc, so hopefully it won't cost me as much to skill up now :)

Quite often thought of going back for a 'look see' but having not played for over 3 months I wasn't sure I could take the disappointment of seeing a blank list where all my classes and crafts used to be :p

I will be back though ST, so watch out for me :D

:edit:

Good! Now you can ask me all the newbie questions instead of the other way around :p

Would maybe advise against RDM. You quit at the RDM peak (in terms of fun), goes downhill from there. By 61, I don't know a RDM who really had a dislike for the refresh/haste/enfeeble rotation the last 20 levels had forced onto them, and it goes on all the way to 74 (when you can actually do something else for fun).

I myself had a severe case of "RDM burnout", almost over it now. Just wanna continue for the end-game stuff ^^

PS I was sure I wrote this all yesterday, when I came on today it wasn't here :(

Raaaargh! BST's must die! Bastards running around charming and releasing mobs in popular xp spots.

So fun to spend 3 minutes killing a monster just to find you don't get XP from it. :(

I'm going to be creating an account when this is released on the 16th.

Anyone planning on creating a linkshell for new players or any existing linkshells taking on Euro players?

I think it's safe to assume that they will be upgrading the servers.

Humm, sum up i guess:

Japanese, Americans and Europeans all play on the same server (as stated above), the different timezones make it so that there's an almost constant amount of people online (diff. peak-hours obviously).
Servers are likely to be upgraded in the future, and 3 new worlds will be provided (look on PlayOnline.com under News for the "World Emigration" bit)
And if anybody is lagging that badly, they're either a) standing at Lower Jeuno Auction House or b) having pc/connection trouble i'd guess, because i've not really experienced any increased latency after EU release at all. :p

There's European linkshells to be found on most servers i'd guess, but there's also linkshells for all occasions :p (*note* linkshell = guild in DAoC terms, except you can have as many as you like)
Alot of these that frequent around here are from Bismarck, but as far as i know, there's also some from Pandemonium, Siren and most likely many other places too :)

Im currently playing a BLKM, finding it a confusing transfer from daoc, No name con system, Grey, green.blue etc.. gotta click em and use CTRL+C to check, like Easy prey, Even, Decent Challenge, tough, Very tough..annoying doin it constantly just to know if i can start a fight or run.
But having fun finding out new things..enuff rambling on.

Anyway point of post is to say that I'm currently on Seraph playing lvl 10 BLKM called Tibb on the handle Ren. Would like to see a linkshell go up for all new Euro people, prolly start summit new, may even make a new thread and see how many people are interested.

Help people out since it can be VERY frustrating to die so much and d-lvl..yes d-lvl you lose exp and go down lvls...ouch

Yeah a de-level does hurt a bit, doesnt happen as often as you progress, although my last de-level was dropping to 73 from 74, which hurt a bit due to Fafnir being a bitch and wiping the floor with me the moment I was raised. (yay)

its BLM you noob
The proper "label" for new players is newbie, whereas noob could have been used if the person in question had already played the game for quite some time.

Was that the best you could come up with?
You really have lost your touch :(
