OK why then does my game bomb on EU client but it can run two clients all night on the US with no problems?

Because you fucked something up.. As no one else i've heard of had ever had that problem with the EU client.

I just locks.

It is very odd.

Anyway been a way for a while now so will see how it goes this week.

I think it is something to do with windows vista and windows defender because each time I get the problem the logs show defender doing something stupid.

I hate vista more than I hate the EU client..

I finally located my problem!! It was the Roxliveshare which is an old protocol that should not be running on vista.

Service RoxMediaDB9 was also hanging on starting.

I checked the event logs and then squared off the errors and checked some advice sites. Apparently this is the main reason I was getting hangs and blue screens of death.

I wish I had paid more attention to those logs the last time I looked there. I had thought it was a driver error the whole time.
