it's still flash but looks like they've done some optimisation work - it's rendering fairly quickly even on my abysmally slow/saturated work connection.

Aye, taken them a long time to learn how to optimise their websites over at GOA :) good job though.
Am loving the way the "armies" pie image looks. same with the Careers section to. Just wish they would have BG info on there :D

I just hope when it comes down to things that matter, like has already been said a few times by GOA we have exactly the same customer service/account management program. I don't want to have to deal with Flash based subscription pages again, as I'm sure a lot of others are aswell.

I disagree. Flash is only bad when it makes the site slow. Since the changes it is fine.

It is still very slow and sluggish (I'm sitting behind 80mbit fiber right now and it takes more then 10 seconds to load the front page), it is a typical flash hell made for no reason what so ever then somebody somewhere properly thought it looked "nice".

It is user unfriendly due to the flash - just try to go to the FAQ area, scroll down to the bottom (after the 10 seconds of load time) and select the last or near last question - and wammo - back up on top and have to scroll down again. Repeat for each question!! :eek7:

There is no positive thing to say about GOAs website for warhammer - none, nada, nicths, zip.

And then look at the very nice website that EA/Mythic have made - and presto - I feel right back in the old DAOC days in terms of service and abilities of GOA. And such a shitty site right now does not bode well for Live, where I think we'll once more face second rate services.

Stupid flash hell. :flame:

Have not bothered checking other forums for this yet.
Has there been a post like this on the more prominant forums such as WHA, VN boards or War-RvR ?

Maybe there it's likely to get noticed, alot more feedback pointing out the dislike of GOA design, and maybe, just possibily maybe, GOA will actually listen to that feedback and do something about it.... Long shot i know :(
better than just leaving it on this forum though.

where to enter the beta key?

where do we enter the bonus keys on the european site?

this has been driving me up the wall for ages i have ventured to many different website and have fully explored both the warhammer american and europe sites.

the american site allows you to add keys to your account.

is my account bugged? or is this just a feature that hasn't been added to the european site.

i just can't find an official post anywhere that says anything about this issue.

i am deeply sorry if this has already been covered 100's of times on this forum but i searched for over half an hour and could find nothing here about my problem.

a HUGE thanks in advance to anyone who can shed light on this.

No problems, we are here to help but honestly where we're you looking? Same question has been asked at least 3 times I can remember.

Anyway IainC (Community Manager) has at some point officially posted here to say they will let us know when we can enter our beta keys.

Mythic do something today, GAO follow suit a month later.. :(

But to be honest, there is no need to input this yet anyways :ninja:
Would be nice if they offered infomation for people like this though. communication is key to successful gaming relationships, not just love relationships :eek7:

I noticed the update to the site a while ago, but I didn't see any threads on it. GOA is well aware of the website complaints. I belive they plan on putting together a new one closer to release. That is what I heard months ago mind you.

I'll see that before believing it when it comes to GOA and customer service. I'll be more then happy to be proved wrong, but I'm certainly not holding my breath for better services then we saw in DAOC.
And the lousy, user unfriendly and slow website right now is indicating this as well.

On one hand you're already getting better services. I know people tend to gloss over the world wide release and the localized servers at launch. But frankly, that's a 10 fold improvement from DAoC.

For anyone whom doesn't think that's an improvement I encourage them to not open up their box when the game goes retail and instead wait three months for the typical delay. Same goes for patches, and expansions. :)

When we get the world wide release, it will be an improvement (but we haven't had it yet ;) ), and I am very curious to see whether we'll indeed get patches and updates simultaneous seeing as patches were several months behind because of localization in DAOC. So if EA/Mythic and GOA delivers on this they will have improved service (couldn't get worse though).
But both of these actions are something we do not have yet, so we aren't "already getting better service". We get the "promise" of it, and well - promises are often made an mass in development phases without being followed through. Everybody who's followed a game or two knows this.

World wide releases and patching are in fact one of the main reasons I am at Warhammer EU - otherwise, I'd just have played the US version instead and avoided GOA like the plague.

I know they want to show individual talent and creativity, but the EU site should be identical to the US one, but with EU relevant text where applicable. It seems like an extravagant expense to make it different.

Promises have been broken before by GOA.
any improvement will be a massive improvement. I am actually amazed they even got the contract in the first place. Guess that the EA boys didnt look into it that much when they took over mythic and its sub-contractors.

As said above, i wont complain if i'm proven wrong. But i doubt GOA will offer any better service 12 months down the line after retail release. Things will start to die away after release., 24/7 GM support will soon become 5hours a day if we are lucky etc, and goa will just blame the leprecons, like they blamed the french law.
