How do i stop myself going LD in large scale RvR

all options off

512k adsl...

crash LD when there 100 people

wtf is the point?

And the graphics engine.
It's not build for this large scale RvR even when Mythics mumbles something about epic battles and things like that.

I have a Pentium IV 2.4 GHz with 512 MB Ram and a GeForce 4 graphics chipset (no, no MX or something like that) and was barely able to move inside Excalibur this evening.

2.4 amdxp same card(geeforce4 ti) and i gig of ddr ram, and i couldnt bloody move on the way to excal, never mind when we got there.....

It is, I dont freeze now, only get 1fps and can barly move, but I dont freeze.... a few hundred engine updates from mythic and i might beable to accually play during large scale RvR

Pentium 4, 2.533GHz, 512 DDR RAM, Geforce 4 128 DDR RAM w/TV-out & AGPx8, and I still had red FPS.

I guess the DAoC gfx engine, although upgraded with SI, still needs a lot of touching up ...

im nto talking FPS i could cope with 1fps. lol a DAOC slideshow id still be able to fire my bow or whatever. im talking oh, shit here come 75+ albs ............................................................................................................................................................1 frame updates........................................................................................................................you have lost connection to the server, cannot connect account being logged out etc.

i dont get it

amd xp2500
1gig ddr
128mb GF4

surely enought to cope with this POS game?

Ive been playing planetside alot latley, and that game can get pretty choppy and lagged, but daoc just dies

yes i know a fair bit about PCs i have all my drivers and whatnot correct etc etc incase you wonder

Its just a shit game engine in the way it handles communication between the client and server.

But saying that, show me an on line game that copes with 200+ people in 1 zone and runs at an *acceptable* frame rate.

Hopefully the rvr addon might have some changes to the net code to improve the performance.

i think there will always be lag/LD when an rr happens. Unless you live right nxt door to there server & have a x/over cable connected to it!

as brun said, alot of info for ya pc/connection :(

Well my comp runs a lot better in RvR after I defragged my HD... Maybe try that. Mine is still shit so I get chops and stuff but not as bad.

has nothing 2 do with internet, if your isp is stable and you really have 512k bandwidth your problem is not there, i ve checked it out and 5 Daoc can run without problem in normal RvR with isnd 64 only ! so with adsl 512 at least 10 clients can run at same time on a LAN even with many players on line. Maybe its some isp problem of yours or some hardware/software bad setup in your system.

yes i know rambo its a fuck up, but i assure you its nothing with my PC maybe ill just turn clip range to 1 inch.

Might be its a problem with memory management

Check if you got any memory managers or other such stuff.

Then make sure you aint running any background proggies.

And last good luck :)

i can assure you this problem is not pc related at all, ive heard from at least ten different people, allwith decent rigs and connections, and all have the same problme....coincidence all have shit management, me thinks not.

its the server/route

3.06GHz P4, 512MB RAM, GF4 Ti4200 graphics card with 128MB RAM, 512k broadband, 100baseT network, though no other machines were running on it at the time.

Zoned into Hadrian's Wall... except I didn't. Game engine simply couldn't cope and I know this happened to a lot of other people.
