access your camelot update.dat file and open using 'note-pad '


check the data , it shud read

if it does not , change it to this and problem solved ....

Make you update.dat file read only after you've fixed the problem and keep a copy of the info in it in a safe folder somewhere else on your PC.


There is a sticky post on the technical forum here which contains all the info you will ever need about what to do if your patcher connects to the US.

Read Only does not work.
Don't tell me it does, I have first hand experience.

Keep a backup of your update.cfg somewhere safe, yes.

However, If you spot the bug early on and you update your update.dat, only for it to not properly update - The update.dat will not say as above. Then, it will sadly go back to version 1.34 after a few attempts and you'll have to reinstall SI.

Urk, that's really shitty bad luck then cos making it read-only has worked every time for me, it times itself out and then gives an error message on not being able to retrieve information from the US patcher.

I did this before after i patching wrongly and for some reason it seems to happen about once out of say 100 log ons its very strange

This has happend to my secound acount about 8 times now fastest way i have found is uninstall the SI add on, simply reinstall it and download the normal patches. The whole thing takes about 15mins,
