i've installed the game and patched it, btw.

check an error log in your "log" folder. It should open with notepad

If it says something like "invalid video mode" then its almost certainly the 60hz problem that plagues nVidia/Win2k.

There's a fix somewhere in this forum.

If you're not Win2k, then I don't know. :eek: sorry ;)

yeah, i'm getting invalid video mode, odd tho cuz i applied the nvrrefresh fix thingy.

solved it

in settings then the video file theres an *allow all resolutions* variable, its set to 0 by default, change it to 1, sorted.

I had a similar problem.
I had installed the 'NVRefresh Tool' fix for the Detenator Driver v40.41, after which BF1942 woud crash out on the loading screen. I had to revert back to the official Det Driver.

What you needed was the updated nvrefresh tool or reforce.

but the Det 40s can fuck off anyway :)
