entering a specific point on a tank

can anyone offer some advice? I find it a tad annoying when trying to enter a tank to drive it and end up on the top manning the machine gun as a sitting duck. Exit, repeat...duh machine gun again... repeat etc...

I have seen others go through the same cycle so I'm not alone

anyone worked out a definitive method of always entering a tank via a certain way to ensure you always end up in the driver seat?

If you enter then press 1-2-3-4 it cycles between the various points in a vehicle, not sure if that is what you are looking for though.

I do what biffy does enter and at same time press 1
no effort what so ever required and *poof* thetre u are

omg really? knew I should have read the manual... assume that works with ships aswell? .... the light dawns.... I never use ships as I assumed you had to drive them, then exit... run to a gun turret and fire... exit.. run back to the driving room etc... cant wait to experiment now.

Bind up and down on your mousewheel to toggle between position 1 and position 2 when in vehicles?

Not ideal, but works well for me.

this is good. Have experiemented a little but have not found any vehicles yet to use positions 3&4, any ideas what uses these?

Yup, they're great for the AA on the carrier 'cos you can hit the planes both coming and going

There's a sort of descrepancy on many vehicles on how you can swap positions. On the Carrier and Battleship you can swap between pilot (1) and the AA guns, yet on the Destroyers you can't swap to or from the AA MGs (positions 3 and 4) or swap between them, yet you can swap from one end of the ship to the other; pilot/front guns (1) and rear guns (2).

I think the AA MGs on the ships are actually like the HMG positions on the maps, they are not actually crew positions at all, although they appear on the crew layout at the bottom.

BTW, positions 3-6 on the APC rearm and heal you

Y'know I'd noticed that thing with the destroyers, and yet the other day on Midway I found I could swap between them all without any trouble...
