Sven may drop James!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/3636704.stm

After days of saying it hadn't even crossed his mind he's done a sudden U-turn. Is he frightened of getting the sack? Has he had a random change of mind? Somehow I doubt he'll make any changes but here's hoping!

I'm worried, I have a feeling we won't get a result tonight. The players are down and we have a habit of slipping up against teams who shouldn't be a problem. If we do struggle tonight and don't get a result, I think Sven has to go. He simply hasn't got the backing of the nation anymore and you need somebody everyone can get behind and I think we need somebody with some backbone to drop players and criticse them which Sven rarely does.

Anyway, here's hoping...

If he gets the sack he gets a massive payout, and he's pretty much guaranteed another job elsewhere in the near future if he wants one.

Wouldn't be surprised if he just thought 'fuck it' and played whoever he wanted.

I would seriously consider dropping James and Beckham but he's in a win win situation, more time in an easy job or a shitload of money to leave it.

bloody hell, he's dropped James! Robinson starts along with Defoe in for Smith.

I wonder if McLaren has picked the team or something?

After several years in charge he's realised that he is allowed to make changes to the team. Fan-bloody-tastic imo!

What about Martyn? He seems to be doing well at everton.

Agreed, we're working towards the next World Cup, James will be 36 then I think and by then Robinson will have gained more experience and maybe even Kirkland will be getting some first team football and we'll have some good keepers battling for the England #1 jersey.

Well, we won. It was incredibly boring mind and it still wasn't entirely convincing...I'll write more later perhaps.
