Enemy classes and revealing

Hows does revealing stealthed chars work ?

Is it an automatic action for classes that can detect hidden and if so how does it then work, do they reveal me or can just see me stealthed ?

Reason for asking is I was stealthed xp-ing just the other side of DC and we got swamped by a load of purples that killed everyone but me as I tried to close in for a stab (wasn't much chance of hitting but you never know :) ) and hey presto im revealed and spells start flying. I managed to leg it and re-stealth and they never gave chase.

Another thing as I targetted the baddies to see what con, all I saw was enemy invader is it possible to determine what class the invader is ?. To be honest it may have said but I was too busy doing headless chicken impressions to read it.

Thanks in advance

Enemies that is purp to you will much easier uncover you're stelth. It's also depending on yer stelth skill how close the enemy have to come to you to uncover you.

And no you can't see the class of the invader, only the race and the rank. Like this: Kobold (midgard race) Skiltvakten (midgard realm rank1)

I think this info is correct, hope it helped a bit :m00:

looking at outfits can help. genrally stealthers are Elf, Luri, Kobbie, Norse, and Saracen, and more often than not they wear dark colours imo :) Anyone carrying a big bow of those races is most likely an archer, one of those races with a lot of weapons (2 on sides and one on back for example) is most likely an assasain :) just takes practice same as anything else

as an assasain attacking an alb army the real trick is knowing whos got the pbaoe mez, and which are casters and which are friars ;)

You should start hanging out stealthed around large battles (keep your distance) and watch what's happening. What sort of people are doing what. It's a good way to learn and you'll also pick up tips from assassins in your realm that you see attacking (or dying in my case) "oh right shouldnt do that.."

Does that mean any class regardless of their detect hidden ability can reveal if there level v your stealth is large, if so what does the detect hidden ability do ?

Thanks in advance.

People can see you at varying distances (your almost invisible still), its your stealth skill versus thier level. So the higher thier level the further away they can see you.

Detect hidden is an assassin stealth "style" that's always active. it allows them to detect non-assassin classes from slightly further away. In other works an archer and an assassin with the same level and stealth skill - the assassin will see the archer before he can see the assassin.

People only drop stealth in PvP when they're hit or have a spell cast on them, I dont think you drop stealth at any other time.

Mobs can still uncover you on the frontier, and then stealth will drop for all to see and it's very embarrasing to then be beaten to a pulp by gorbarochends in front of 20 laughing mids. On the otherhand I have managed to lose many a trailing red con by running close to them its a calculated risk :D

mobs can break stealth, i think this is down to stealth level etc as to how often this happened. at level 40 with 40 stealth (with items and realm) i stealthed through a tight-packed room of about 10ish abysmals (red\purple con 50-52ish) in the mines and didnt get unstealtehd, yet i can on rare occasisions sit next to a badger cub (level 0) and it can unstealth me ;)

Afaik(from reading vnboards) you can only see hidden characters in a 90 degree arc in front of you.

So if you are standing behind someone you *should* not be seen.

This is NOT confirmed and only from ppl stating its like that.

Tho i do know my lvl 10 shadowblade friend who autotrains stealth can stealth up to a mob from behind, but me with a lvl 8 infil with 6 stealth gets uncovered by blues when im in front of them sometimes.

Might be a coincidence, might not.

niljindil I have seen stealthers from behind that is not true.

I can go on forever about stealth but here is a little piece I have written a while ago:
Imagine yourself a bubble around your stealther, outside this bubble you will remain invisble for anyone trying to find you.
But if anyone enters this bubble they will see your stealthed person for 3 seconds when the server is again gonna check if they have moved out of this stealth bubble and you again go invisble or still see you as stealthed. And you will stay stealthed until they choose to reveal you by hitting you with damage spell.

The stealth bubbles lowers with higher stealth is only partially true,
Stealth bubble radius is:
(Your stealth level - enemy's player level) * 20 + 125 // might have been 150.

Against one with detect hidden the formula is
(your stealth level - enemy's stealth level) * 50 + 125

Whatever happens this radius cannot go below 125 so they will always have a chance that they will see you. But 125 is often enough, havent checked exactly how big it is but heard 500 is about the walll to wall in a dungeon. or 300 the size of a horse.
Anyways with high enough stealth you should probably be getting close enough but don't ever stop to to get into the right position that will get you seen by them and dead before you know it.

There is a bug in the game system also that peeps who use 2 handed weapons can't stay stealthed after having onehitted a mob. Works in PvP but no against pets (very irritating)
(Update: infact it is not a bug but staying stealthed is a bug after onehitting)

On moving you move as slowest as your stealth are below ½ your level, then increase at 3/4 and getting close to real speed at equal or more.

Archer info on stealth
Your level of stealth * 2 is the percantage of you knocking an arrow and remaining stealthed.
Your level of stealth * 2 - 20 % is the chance of knocking an critical arrow and remaining stealthed.

AE hits a stealther. If doing damage you will drop out of if mezz you will still be mezzed.

Number might not be correct, think the minimum bubble for a person with detect hidden is higher from what I have experienced so far but this is what I gathered from various sites. Hope it helps.

I got one shotted by a stealth class last night with me mage. Not sure what realm they were from either was Gimpfarfar and Artea Gimpfarfar was an archer, Artea was the assasin type.

All I saw was a flicker of a shape and then I was dirtnapping Im assuming it was front facing Perf Artery but he must of been there a while or moved in at last moment as both of them waited for the mob we were fighting to drop (many thanks) as to Gimpfarfar I never even saw him at all and he dropped me mate.

Stealth seemed damn effective but again might of been lvl difference that helped.

PS not a moan about getting one shotted, was great that you waited and saluted afterwards me heart nearly jumped out of me chest :) certainly woke me up from the mundane dot, dot, blast
