...with her math skills!

what are the damage results like with the high-end sword/axe/hammer styles and chains?
thinking with bias towards a savage here (2h)
so im lookin at 50axe/sword 42savagery/parry or 44hammer/49savagery

axe seems more versatile with havoc -> tyrs fury, front position, also evernight -> arctic rift for a behind positional. yea evernight is a lvl 15 opener but does that mean its gimpy at lvl 50? glacial movement too for a side positional..

sword has ragnarok4tehwinn (?) behind positional and polar rift anytime, but i hear end cost for PR is immense and a bit eggy for rvr? nice triple combo parry opener, be a miracle if i coudl ever pull that off tho in rvr

hammer has the behind positional 2-style combo conquer -> sledgehammer.. parry opener lambast (which is quite frequent for a savage?) also a low-lvl combo ruiner -> crumble
but with 44 in hammer and 49 in savagery is the extra savagery worth hammer spec?

approx figures and damage results would be cool to help explain this long list of nubishness :D

You after damage caps, swing speeds etc at lvl 50 with capped quickness ? what about buffs also ?

I`ll do the examples for a Norse Savage with capped quickness at level 50. That would give them 148 quickness unbuffed, 223 quickness buffed.

With 42 Savagery that gives you the level 35 haste buff which is 32% haste

I`ll do these examples with 16.5 dps from both axe/hammer/sword using the styles you mentioned.

Unbuffed Sword Caps

Un-styled Cap:384
Effective Speed:2.8 Seconds

Style Caps

Polar Rift: 558(+174)
Ragnarok: 625(+241)

buffed Sword Caps

Unstyled Cap remains the same, 384 dmg
Effective Speed:2.2 Seconds

Rolar Rift: 526(+142)
Pagnarok: 581(+197)

*****

Unbuffed Axe Caps

Un-styled Cap:410
Effective Speed:2.96 Seconds

Style Caps

Havok: 623(+212)
Tyr`s Fury: 677(+266)
Evernight: 586(+175)
Artic Rift: 689(+278)

buffed Axe Caps

Unstyled Cap remains the same, 410 dmg
Effective Speed:2.4 Seconds

Havok: 585(+174)
Tyr`s Fury: 629(+218)
Evernight: 554(+143)
Artic Rift: 638(+227)

*****

Unbuffed Hammer Caps

Un-styled Cap:402
Effective Speed:2.91 Seconds

Style Caps

Provoke: 563(+161)
Conquer: 608(+206)
Sledge Hammer: 663(+261)

buffed Hammer Caps

Unstyled Cap remains the same, 402 dmg
Effective Speed:2.38 Seconds

Provoke: 534(+132)
Conquer: 570(+168)
Sledge Hammer: 616(+214)

*****

EDIT:

Problem solved, it was a mistake on my behalf in the formula. It was correct just seems i had cant tell the difference between - and + ;p damn small fonts :/ 1280 * 1024 + small fonts is not nice :/

These numbers are now as accurate as they could get, without knowing the exact speed/dps of the weapons. The game truncates numbers so so its impossible to be 100% accurate but its damn close.

These examples are with 65 spec in axe/hammer/sword thats 50+11+rr5

Buffs do not affect base damage they only allow you to hit closer to your cap, you can never go over the cap of a weapon style.

As i said the base damage cap ive used is for a 1h weapon at those speeds.

Im still on the look out for a formula for getting the 2h bonus correct. I tried Wyrd`s but it was way off. His formula gave my 2h hammer a cap of 324 for unstyled, when in reality it was closer to 385 damage.

Once i get the correct formula, been spamming the Team Leads all morning so far an no answers yet :( I`ll update the thread to include the correct base damage numbers for a 2h weapon.

But as a rough idea, dont take my word for it, but you could probably add another 150 damage to those unstyled and styled attacks and get a fairly good idea on what the cap would be given the correct 2h formula.

Big-G updated my previous post with the correct info.

I made a small mistake when doing the calculations for 2h caps, corrected now.

Its a little hard to explain Solid.

There a base % extra on basedamage the moment you put 1 spec point into 2h, you also get an extra .5% per spec in your weapon of choice.

The formula ive used is for mid 2h only, no one is 100% sure of how hib/alb 2h works although its pretty similar from the tests that have been done, just not as accurate as the mid 2h formula.
