I have ventured many times into Emain, and every time I have had a rapid death, each time death came not through being out skilled, but for being outnumbered.
Six times out of ten I might even get past MMG, three more times I might make it to AMG, and one time I might make it back to MMG, I never made a second run.
I would say I spend more time on the Svasud Pad waiting to port to, than actually in Emain. I normally re-die about 20 seconds after my rez sickness has worn off.
I calculated that us Mids (when I was there) was giving the other realms, in particular the Albions substantially more realm points than I was getting. So I a Mid was helping an Alb get IP, umm.
I then noticed the Albions had our strength relic, were keeping people out for Dodens, and the Hibernians were keeping hold of DF.
This seems odd to me, is it true that Midgards prefer to get a few real points, give the Albs loads of Realm points, than to go into Albion steal a keep or take a relic?
If it wasn’t for the likes of Rauthan and Co, Midgard wouldn’t have DF as much as it does and this is sad.
I thought the point to the game was for a realm to try and obtain all six relics; it seems to me that most Midgard players play DAoC as they would Counter Strike and try to gain as many kills as possible irrespective of enabling their team to win. Why are we so selfish? Why do we let RP’s dictate how we play the game? Isn’t it more challenging to go for keeps and relics than potter backwards and forward MMG ->AMG in emain?
Why do people congratulate each other for getting a new RR rank? I mean big deal, I'd rather congratulate someone who organised taking three keeps that enabled Mids to keep DF for most of the Weekend! (Congratz whichever mid that was!!!!!). Or organised a Relic Raid, a legion hunt, a wow hunt etc, these are the real hero's, I salute you!
When people leveled was it always the thought of going to Emain that kept you going? For me it was the dream of lifting an Albion relic.
If we must play the Emain game? Why don’t we at least do it properly? Nine times out of ten there is no chat group, groups don’t stick together. When we 4fg get beaten by 6fg why do we all port back to get beaten by the same group again? Why don’t we wait for more mids? Must we fight like lemmings?
Are my experiences of Emain just unique to me, anyone else feeling the same way?
