Email Notification

Gah! I have no idea what-so-ever why i keep recieving Emails about "People have replied to a Thread you subscribed too", i went into the Edit Options on my Profile and "Email Notifcation" and "Allow Moderators to send you Emails" are both selected as "No" the only way i can sort this problem, is by Blocking the email they send out, meaning i miss out on more information comin thru.

Anyone able to fix this problem for me?

OK, I have no idea why it's still doing that if you've disabled that option. Weird. Sorry, can't help

Its when you first sign up I believe, you have the choice to receive notification. I think once you untick that option it should stop, but only from your new posts after that. Saying this, it never worked for Samm and she still gets notification.

edit the actual post you are getting email notifications for. there's an option in there to enable and disable and if you had you user profile flag to enable then it would have defaulted to enable on ?

Aha, following a brief visitation to the dentists I have remembered (I think) how to stop it. It's something to do with threads being subscribed to by you posting in them. Try fiddling with that, or alternatively you could stop posting

user CP > scroll to bottom > 'Show Threads from' drop-down box (Choose: the beginning) > Unsubscribe from the ones you dont want to get e-mail notification from

et voila

i just blocked the unticked it, unsubscribed the threads. and blocked the e-mail address. problem solved

v. annoying problem though at that :/

gah, i dont really fancy goin thru all my Threads Unticking Unsubscribe from each one..

SUrely that Email Notification should do something otherwise its not doing its job?

E-Mail notification is for replied to threads, not subscribed ones. That is something that I believe will be fixed/changed in vBulletin v3 (next Major release).

It applies only to new threads you make a reply to once it's toggled.

There's only one thread that's been going long enough to do that to you SG: Desktop thread, or possibly on in the HL forum somewhere if it's long/old enough.

heh i havent taken part in any Threads which have been goin on for ages (Then again, moo_mark2 in the Gen Discussion forum?)
