Elite Force Holomatch control problems

hi,

i got into playing Elite Force Holomatch last week on my brother-in-law's 128k ISDN connection (Windows ME), but now i'm back at home with my 512k/256k ADSL connection (Windows 2000 PE) i'm having trouble controlling my character. mostly it occurs when i'm moving the mouse, and it spins out of control for a moment, leaving me pointing in the wrong direction. sometimes it doesn't respond immediately to my movement keypresses either. i'm getting pings of around 40-60 on ADSL, better than the 80-100 i was getting on ISDN.

i didn't have this problem on another server two nights ago, but since then the master's been down and i haven't been able to do any other checking.

any suggestions?
