Eldritch Question!

Im wanting to make an Eldritch, so i have been looking at diff styles of temps etc. But now id like to know which is better:

Light (mostly) and around 20 Mana as final temp

Void (mostly) and 20 mana;

or a balanced mix of all specs?

If you choose the void option only put 46 in void (as there are no new spells after that) then you can get up to the level 26 pb in the mana line which is better than the best void aoe.
I went for void/light as i thought it would be better for rvr. But i wish i hadn't now i'm finding levelling very hard without a pb and i could always have switched after the respec becomes available.

Although, thanks to the major nerfing of bolts and other bugs surrounding it (los bug anyone) a light/mana eld might be a better choice for rvr. Then you can aim for a 47/26 light/mana spec to get all the light spells + the 26 pb again.

At the moment, the only good thing about speccing void is the bolts (and perhaps the energy resist debuff making pb hit harder) but speccing light gives u an uber dd, ae mezz and nearsight.

Choice is yours, but i know what i'd pick if i started again now.

If u r low lvl, u´d serve well lvling with a mana eldritch and then change it with respec, hit lvl 50 asap is easier (much easier) with mana than anything else.

R vs r? Tbh lvl first, light´s uber r vs r, but u´ll need mana to lvl, u can always go 45+ light and 26 mana, but make sure u gimp urself a bit be4 lvl 43 to have 26 in mana (or 45 depend), so at least u can enter in the classic pbaoe group.

Beside, mana´s not that bad after all those patchs, all dmg spell ENERGY based, the spec DD snares and will have 1500 range (with resistance, it´s a bit lower than light spec DD, but higher than any other tool we have, and snares at same range with no timer but diminish return is quite good tbh) Only draw back is that our mez´s more likely to be resisted (not sure about it, heard it´s only lvl based, and then heard it´s spec based @,@)

Void... yet to hear sb claim their voider rulez and pwnz and so

Basically to simplyfy what Tama said..

Light = Shit for XP Good for RvR
Mana = Wicked for XP, Ok for RVR
Void = Not too good for XP, Good for RVR

Basically, spec in Mana to 48 and get lvl 50 asap, then when respec comes spec in Light for RVR.

Spec max Mana to level 26. Then train only light until 50.

45 Light
26 Mana
10 Void

kickass for levelling, and RvR.

Now I'm confused!

Just started an Eldritch, did loads of reading up on it and all guides seemed to suggest void was the way to go for uber damage.

Is this no longer the case? Please tell me before I go too far down this trail (level 5 at mo) and just want to be a nuker

Void eldritch´s far from the best nuker, he´s more versatile due to nearisight and stun and mez, but far from the best nuker, u can´t even kill somebody from a stun be4 it wear off.

If u keen on bolts (according to Mythic, r intented to hit ppl NOT in combat... wtf...) on low af invaders, go void, but I just had some void eldritch DDed and did 2xx (-1xx)... that really hurts... while my DD did 348 (-25) on Ninjastyle

If u wanna plain nuke, go light mentalist, if u keen on eldritch, follow nova´s spec, that´s a quite interesting and good one actually.

Taka, nearsight is on the light line not void... Another reason to spec light. My eldritch back in the day was mana/light, I liked it and the PBAE rocks

I know where it´s in light line, but u can always spec low in it and still be useful (not like DD and PBs), hence I´ve got 19 version nearsight, and I can beat any wizzy 1 vs 1

Actually the best advice you can get is to dont listen to any of them and reroll as a light mentalist. DD equal to light elds, best aoe DD in hibernia and you get a pet on top of that. put the rest in mana and you got MR3 and a aoe dot aswell. happy rvr'ing.

Yes if you wanna get PBAE I would take a chanter for speed and and pet.

If you wanna get kick ass nukes take the mentalist for pet and kick ass mana reg.

If you wanna get lots and lots of damage with 2 spells every 20 seconds that have a lower chance of hitting go void with light as backup for nearsight and AE mezz.
