Yeah but a Linux box is the best way of running a 24/7 dedicated server for the Q3 engine (be it TA flavour or otherwise).

Why aren't they coding Linux support for online play? When the SP game is old and gray the MP is what keeps it alive, surely they must see this :(

There are no patches currently in production as we don't ship products assuming that a patch will be necessary at launch.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so the game will ship with LINUX server support ?!?!

Activision Ping Envy:
Har Har...There is no Linux server support in the shipping .exe. This is no different then any other Q3A-engine 1.0 game we've shipped.

That doesn't mean we aren't looking into a solution for this. We just don't ship it that way out of the box.

Crap one's.

If there is no Linux support then EF2 on MP will fail. As nearly every game that doesn't support it. Look at AvP2 and IGI2 (they say it's comming). I hope it does come, otherwise MCP can't have it on our server. So we will be reduced to bookables. :(
