Is the forum b0rked today? I seem to be reading my posts before I've written them.

DBs, it happens (mostly I gather) in the act of hitting 'Submit Reply'. It seems to take ages to open the 'newreply.php' (or whatever it's called -can't remember exactly). the actual post has happened, but you can't see it. If you press back or hit the button again the data gets reposted etc. etc.

That's where (some) of the strings of repeat posts come from imo. I deleted mine in the "Wij dearie" thread, but next time I'll leave it and PM you (though I don't know if it will help you to see the posts, may give you a timestamp for some log)

Hmm I wonder if its due to the forums having many email notifications to send out in the thread or is the thread very small?

Does it happen in any thread?

maybe, but I don't know. you have a good point with that notification idea. next time I shall pay grave attention to what I'm doing on the forum*

edit: and it just sits there. you know, like your browser is about to go bonkers really. I was thinking it was my work's proxy going a bit pear to be honest.

edit again: it happened around 17:00 in the "Wij Dearie" thread. You can see my one post, but there were several others that I had to delete. the entire forum seemed sluggish around that time, but I couldn't be sure if that is my connection or anything between me and the forum. Work has multiple OC connections, but that means nothing of course.

I have a squid proxy at home (transparent of course). I will edit this message after posting it to tell you how long it took.

I am about to press "Submit reply"...

I let my browser sit for over 30 seconds the first time, and opening the thread in a new window didn't show me my post, so I pressed "back" in my original browser window and re-submitted. by the time everything refreshed the post was there 7 times or so.
I know the signs now, so I'll keep an eye out.

It's not particular threads, just happens occasionally. I've never spotted any correllation between size of thread or whatever, although it seems to happen during the day only for me... about lunchtime.

Perhaps your small hands tremble?

How strange I tried to post this ^^^ a couple of times for a "joke" but it wasn't having any. I clicked reply to my own post and posted the same message too!

I bet it shows up later to make me look (more of) a fool.
