Economy, Photo Quality Inkjet

OK. My handmedown DeskJet 670C is fubar'd and has been for a while. I'm about to bugger off to Toronto for 16 days, but when I get back I'm going to sort out the "issues" with this computer. A new printer is one of them.

I want colour, and since I now do a lot of digital photography malarky I'd quite like one that'll take a photo cartridge.

The quality doesn't have to be truely stunning cause I've been reasonably impressed with the output onto photo paper from normal colour catridges.

I wonder about the Epson Photo 810, £85 and consumables at sub £20.

That is roughly my price range though I can stretch a little furthur in printer costs - though I wont pay more than £20 a time for new ink.

Comments & recommendations please.

Fantastic printer - not sure about the price of consumables, as I haven't needed to swap them in the months I've had this... great quality printer, loads of neat features - fast, small and really quiet. I think it was around £130, but it's well worth it.

Thanks Wazz.

However, I've checked around and all I can find that comes close is the HP 990 CXI and that retails at £180.
The DeskJet 960 is around £130 though.

Furthur comments? I'm not really prepared to spend over £130 unless I'm going to make a killer saving on cartridges.

It is. But I have a feeling they may have less ink.

From Dabs, the HP cartridges are £25 a pop and the black is 40ml. The Epsons are £20 but the ink levels aren't quoted.
I always remember the HP carts in the current printer as being bigger than those in the newer Epson downstairs.

Does anyone know the details? Neither Dabs.com nor Epson.co.uk will tell me how much ink I get witht he Epson.
