Not to mention theis energy thing is bull anyway.

Save heat! Save energy! Conserve it!

Don't we have these nuhecelar plants or some such that provide rahter loads of energy?

Do they store energy we don't use? Send it to starving kids?

If someone could explain the benefits of "saving energy", except for the sake of your own electrical bill, i'd be willing to listen.

Saving energy = less fuel burned = the possibility of using more renewable sources (which in general provide less energy within a given time frame)

Renewable sources result in less dependancy on foreign imports thus making it less prone to dramatic fluctuations due to changes in the cost of imports.
see cost of oil as an example

And the problem is not making energy, the problem is storing it with solutions such as nuclear (which is not a renewable source of energy)

So this is generally towards the people not using nuclear power?

As in, oils and such?

Saving energy=saving money.

Saving money=spending it on other things.

Other things=using fuel to make/transport them.

You are going to eat those words, standing in front of God upon judgment day!

But i speak such wonderful things that eating my own words would be like suckling on the tit of an ambrosia filled booby! :D

Not to mention i don't fear this god person, i have many gods.

not really, this is just getting money out of gullible people using a poorly disguised guilt trip (much like alot of the laws and regulations to do with he "green" manifesto)

Regarding nuclear, you offered it as an example so i put it into that context

Just to clarify my points were irrespective of the thread itself but regarding your question of what do we gain from saving energy

to be quite honest if green measures such as solar panels (electricity generating ones not the cheap ones for heating), were subsidised (they cost an absolute fortune) and we were paid for the electricity we feed back into the national grid you would decrease energy usage within a year

Edit:
Quick search, it would cost at least £7,979 to get the PV panels installed

Button = Money grabbing gimmick

If people really wanted sustainable energy the government would subsidise solar panels and feed the "extra" energy back into the national grid, effectively making each house a energy generator when there is excess meaning no energy is wasted (e.g. when everything is off the energy produced by the panels is effectively wasted)

Now the problem is that it is far too expensive (£7-£8k+) so noone is doing it

Ah yeah.

Sure, solar paneling would be effective and would make the cost back rather fast( i thnk so too), but also, i say f*ck the humans and bring on more nuclear plants.

I'm kind of a...hmm...omnitist in that way. As in, i like to save the nature, nature is fun, mother nature "big thumbs up", but also nuclear powered motorcycles for everyone :D
