Having some issues with eBay/Paypal, I dont have much experience (read any at all) with eBay or Paypal so i'm going to ask you web savvy gurus for some advice.

Okay the story goes, my girlfriend bought some tickets to see Audioslave, we cant go as its the same weekend as Glastonbury and I know what i'd prefer! So she trys to sell them on eBay, all's good the buyer gets them and the money goes into her Paypal account.

Unfortunately she accidently put them down as standing tickets when they are actually seated, was an honest mistake, the seated tickets are actually more expensive. She didnt even get the full price she paid for them anyway.

Now the guy is kicking up a fuss as he obviously wanted to get in the mosh pit, he sent several VERY abusive emails and lodged a complaint with Paypal. Not really sure where we stand, the gig is at the end of the month and time is ticking.

The funds havent actually cleared into her bank from Paypal yet, they are sitting in limbo somewhere in between. Its already cost a fiver to use Paypal in the first place, it will cost even more to go through a process of refund. Anyone got any bright ideas?

Get him to return the tickets FIRST, and then refund him, and apologise. Any costs incurred are your problem (although the paypal cost to him is HIS problem).

Why don't you offer a partial refund?
It's a fact of life that when you fuck up you generally have to pay for it :)

Wonder why he doesn't take the seated tickets and then go for a mosh whilst he's there. I doubt if the gig promoters would force him to stay seated all through the gig.

When i saw the Pixies at the Brixton Academy I bought seated tickets too, not by mistake, just because I wanted to 'hear' them. Anyway, got insanely jealous of the waves of people being crushed downstairs and went to see if I could go down and errr bounce around and I was told that they have a very strict location policy. And bog off basically. Was OK in the end tho, the flip up seats were even better at bouncing up and down on and I think the entire 4 backrows were doing it.

Basically, my experience is they dont like you moving from seat > mosh pit.

How much did you sell the tickets for? Where is the gig? Because I do like a bit of Audioslave.

I'm afraid you will have to offer a refund. World of difference between seated and standing, and nothing worse than being seated if you want to mosh.

I have checked with the venue and you cant move from seated to standing. Its in the MEN Arena Manchester Damini, 24/06/2005. We got tickets to see them in Wolverhampton next Sunday now instead. Wolves Civic is a much better venue anyway tbh, its a lot smaller and they let you move from seated to standing there if you feel like it!

I'm not the fan really anyway i'm getting dragged. Chris Cornells voice just grates on me after a while, I preffered RATM. ;)

She has sent an email to Paypal saying she is perfectly happy to refund them if she receives the tickets back within 7 days, which sounds reasonable to me. Will just have to wait and see.

Manchester? Bit too far away for me, a mere southerner. Now, if it was London, I'd have taken them off your hands. Sorry about that.
