Eating without entertainment a waste?

Yeah i've often wondered about this. I seem to lack the ability to just sit and eat and "savour" the food. I have to do something. Even if what i end up doing is as mundane as reading the back of the cereal packet i'm munching on. (munching on the cereal within, not the packet)

Wonder how many people would get annoyed with NOTHING to do other than looking at the food while eating. (I just realised there's no lights on o_O) It'd annoy the holy hell out of me I think.

i read in a health magazine yesterday than in an experiment they gave a test to people to see if eating while occupied had an effect and they gave 5 biscuits to people who were playing a computer game or watching telly and 5 to people sat queitly in a room, the people playing or watching tv snarfed the food and asked for more and the people sat quietly ate slowly and when asked if they wanted more they turned it down.

it seems eating while engaged in an activity that takes your mind off the food isnt good for digestion.
