i read somewere that Earth wizards are extreamly effecive at keep defence and attack, GTaoe can be used as a PB spell in lords room and now we can't target out own doors its the only effective way of hitting people bashing doors in. Does anyone know why there aren't more of them? the main excuse it they're hard to level but people can always spec Fire and respec at L40 to earth. When in keeps were always getting spammed by runies GTaoe spells, and ice wizards are unable to get near doors as they are always being mezz and aoe DD spamed by people outside.

AFAIK earth wizzies best attack is GTAOE which doesnt hit for much even at higher levels :(

but if you can keep spaming people behind doors or inside keeps its not that bad is it?

recast is 5 or 6 secs so spamming becomes slow spamming

maybe when you get /groundtargetassist (or whatever the command is) in one of the next patches

A number of us Ice Wizzies were using it together to defend the CS keep in midgard the other night. All specced to lvl 20 in earth plus 11 in item bonuses and I didnt hit for anything about 50 not including crits.

ok slow cast times are bad, but with 3/4 earth wizards doing it cool be effective spam.

holding key (can't remember what F key it is atm) brings up a largish cross hair under your character, using arrow key moves it around, whats target assist?

Earth wizzy is all AE damage and casting times suffer, we lack single target DD badly and have to resort to mana draining base Fire or Ice.

GTAE does approximately 150 damage per hit (from a level 50's point of view) and on their own is only a minor irritation to attackers. Overlapping, combined GTAE would completely screw up any keep door attackers but the problem is that Earth isn't considered a viable alternative to Ice and Fire. If we had more Earth specced wizzys it might be a different story but as things stand it's a joke class.

i just cant see the point on fire wizzies... f u want a good DD roll an air theurg.

Albs don't understand that the theurg air nuke is practically as good as the fire wizard one.

Try getting a group as an air theurg. Thats why all theurgs go earth till 40 then respec.

Air nukes suck against hibs (mostly 50+ spirit resist), dunno about fire tho. :)

in general, every one has heat resists priority over spirit resist. so u just talking bullshit -.-

plus a fire wizzies has jsut a DD.

47air/26earth theurg has a DD, stunpets, PBT, auxiliar mezz (crappy) ..

Nope, hibs always has +24% spirit buff 'cause there is a lot of wardens, but mostly 8% fire resist from druid's buff. So not me talking bullshit :p

ive played hib a bit tho and most droods have 16%heat, not every warden has 24spirit.. anyway..

47air/26earth theurg has a DD, stunpets, PBT, auxiliar mezz (crappy) ..

Edit 45/26/14 theurg has a DD, stunpets, PBT, auxiliary mezz, auxilliary root (crappy) ..

aye well, 45-47air are just spare points f u get sum use from em on cold spec then sure :great: 45air 26earth is the base imo

they also have bolts, AE's, and baseline root, so there :p

Earth wizzies also get a cracking dot that can hit for up to 300 damage per tick, and don't forget ae root and improved self buffs. They rock in keep defences and are a nice RP earner too ;)

ground target is in now. was in patch notes but you had to read the lot to find it.

Earth wizzy DoT is single target only, takes too long to cast and is curable. Compare that to a fire or ice spec DD which does fast chunks of uncurable damage to a target and you get a little idea of how Earth is struggling.

AE Root is only handy for lining up the enemy for a Cabby to AE DoT over.

Agreed they rock in keep defence but there is a severe lack of them to actually do much damage. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen two in a keep together. Give me three Earth wizzy's on keep defence and it would be a different story. Oh and as for earning RP's they mainly leech RP's from others kills.

Im not trying to disuade people from rolling one, just pointing out the flaws :(
