We bought one not long ago because our dog has annoying hard to remove hair that he kindly leaves everywhere. I've just hoovered the whole house in 20 mins and there is not a spec of dirt anywhere, the suction is truly amazing, Dysons are great.

oh dear lord what have I become:(

I was tempted to get a Dyson a few years back, but IMO they are vastly overpriced. I ended up getting a simple "wet and dry" vac, a bit like a VAX, just a big plastic drum with a massive suction motor on top, it's light and with a nice long tube and a lot of power and can suck up anything including liquids, sand, kittens, japanese cars, etc. You don't have to use a bag either although they are available and make it a big easier to empty.

Keep It Simple Stupid is my motto.

heh

We got a DC04 with the dry carpet cleaning unit.

It was £450 I got it for £250, cos I worked at a shop that sold them.

They are excellent we had a carpet that was 4 years old and when we put the dyson over it you were getting the carpet fluff out of it as if it was new...

I would continue but I fear, persecution :(

ah yes, forgot to mention the entire downstairs is now wooden flooring, if you've ever removed a carpet you'll know how much crap gets "stored" in it.

Dysons are great.

A few years ago I had my webcam on and was demonstrating their suction power by hoovering wasps out of mid flight (my computer was in the loft along with a fucking great big wasps nest).

The dyson sucked them down and I displayed them buzzing in the clear container.

Was a quality moment. Someone must have some piccies of me doing it.

The trouble with Dysons are the colours. They look too cheap and nasty.
