Dx 9

Im told it improves performance for BF1942, so do any of you have it ? If so, obviously does it improve fps ?
And if it does, do open gl games like Quake or Counter-Strike suffer ?

Its a mixed result, some who have problems with BF1942 have found using DX9 has fixed em...others haven't

DX9 runs absolutely fine here, I've not noticied any real difference mainly because bf42 was smooth as a proverbially smooth thing beforehand.

Didn't notice the slightest bit of difference when changing between the two.

Well, I'm holding off installing DX9 until I have a game that needs it or hardware which supports it. It doesn't seem to make much difference, and I've heard of it causing problems for some people, so I'll leave PR to beta-test it for me.

Well i do have a Direct 9 card so cant really speak =/ but from 8.1 to 9 made a HUGE dif

Edit: Not that it couldnt run full res/gfx beforehand
